Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - NTIman - 06-01-2011 Mike Wrote:NTIman Wrote:I don't have a lot of loose fitting clothing to conceal a handgun with a double stack magazine. I feel the need to carry a handgun when I wear skinny jeans. If someone wants to kick my ass for wearing them, I can take care of the issue... Hopefully I'll get it in the next week or so. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 06-02-2011 let me know how you like that kahr and how reliable it is. the kahr, keltech, and ruger are all on my short list Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - NTIman - 06-02-2011 Evan Wrote:Ryan T Wrote:depends on where you live. here in democrat gun hater county, they take the full 45 days on purpose, and often a week or 2 more than that.NTIman Wrote:Also, in the process of getting my VA CHP. If we ever cross paths, I'll let you shoot it and see what you think. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 06-02-2011 yes Rex. but please, tell me how you know what I really want Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 06-02-2011 Evan Wrote:yes Rex. I'm just amused at the thought of a guy who buys a Lotus going out and picking up a Ruger or Kel Tec, that's all. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Evan - 06-02-2011 Then should I be amused that a guy who buys a busted 9 year old wrx would buy an HK? if the gun goes bang and hits what im pointing it at then I give not a shit what name is on the side. and fwiw, if the sig p290 was as light and thin as the keltec I would probably get that. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 06-03-2011 tempting, but an ar makes so much more sense. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 06-03-2011 HAULN-SS Wrote:My buddy is selling a sig 556 + goodies for a grand..anyone here interested? What goodies? What trim? Swiss-style handguards and folding stock or not? Mike Wrote:tempting, but an ar makes so much more sense.I actually don't have an AR anymore, only a SIG 556 in, er, 5.56. Nothing wrong with the AR, but I really love how easy the SIG is to maintain, plus that big AK extractor and fixed ejector are (IMHO) a real advantage over an AR. The only thing the AR has, in my book, is customizibility, but since the SIG in its stock form is pretty much perfect (for me) it is a non-issue. PLUS, folding stock = awesome. :-D Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - NTIman - 06-04-2011 So far so good on the Kahr. Just over 100 rounds in, and no issues to speak of, using either Hornady Critical Defense or full metal jacket. I'm getting a little better with it, Julie and I went shooting today. Julie didn't care for the Kahr compared to her M&P because it seemed to have more noticable recoil to her. I couldnt tell a noticable difference. Maybe I just haven't gotten used to shooting a handgun enough to know whats going on. :dunno: Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 06-26-2011 Have still been waiting on the Viridian X5L for like 2 months, so I switched the order to a C5L designed for SC / compacts. After doing some research, apparently the X5L sticks out from the end of the barrel (the light part). I understand from a tactical standpoint that it's ideal for the light to be flush with the barrel or extending past it, but this would bug the shit out of me. The C5L was cheaper too, and has the same functions as the X5L...I had the OpticsPlanet price match it from another site when I cancelled the order for the X5L...only $275 shipped ![]() Should be here Thursday / Friday!
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 06-30-2011 C5L came in today. I only really had time to install it and set up the parameters for what I want to come on when I hit the buttons. Pics. Fit and finish is pretty good, the fit to the gun is excellent: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The ergonomics with my gun are almost perfect...the buttons are set up for ambidexterity and are really intuitive on where they are located. Literally you just extend your finger past the trigger guard and there it is. The flashlight is surprisingly bright and the laser is just stupid bright especially at night. I was also surprised after a quick glance at the manual how specific you can set up the laser/light combos in the "Deep Programming" mode...you can set the light to flash at different brightnesses, frequencies, etc. All in all it's a pricey piece but imo worth the investment for something that is so intimidating and well built. Can't wait to get it sighted in at the range! Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 06-30-2011 Does it fit in your holster with that laser/light on it? Speaking of things that are expensive but worth it:
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 06-30-2011 It does not, but I haven't put the gun in a holster since I bought it, even the one it came with. It sits in a finger safe in my house and comes out only to go to the range.
