Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 05-20-2011 I was this -->| |<--- close to buying it last night, but realized I haven't held more than a couple guns and I have no idea what this one feels like. Me thinks a handgun isn't a good impulse buy. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 05-20-2011 CaptainHenreh Wrote:If anyone has been kicking around a handgun purchase, this is an absolutely insane deal: ZOMGWTFBBQ Although upon further reading, I think the deal at buds is better, Night sights, 18rd mag for $447 Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 05-20-2011 Also a good deal: Smith & Wesson M&P9 Fullsize With Thumb Safety (Silver or Black): 379 after 50 dollar rebate. (From CDNN, call them for details) Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Apoc - 05-20-2011 P.S. - What does said gun normally go for? Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - JustinG - 05-20-2011 REXY thoughts..... http://www.gunsamerica.com/957323497/Guns/Pistols/Sig-Sauer-Sigarms-Pistols/2022/P2022_329_00.htm EDIT: FAIL, listed as sold, SOB I can always upgrade to the night sights, direct through sig they are $100. May be purchasing...... FYI Chris, that Sig is selling for $499 used at Greentops gun shop here in Richmond. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Mike - 05-20-2011 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Also a good deal: $100 cheaper than what I just paid and I got the best deal available at the time. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-20-2011 If I went through the process of getting an FFL, does that mean that I would still have to fill out forms locally every time I need to buy a gun in NC? Or would that give me a hall pass to purchase whenever? Here, you can submit background check and buy up to 3 permits at a time, or if you have a CWP you don't have to buy them anymore. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-20-2011 Monthly gun giveaway. Ruger LC9 this month. https://www.galleryofguns.com/about/GGGEntry.aspx?utm_source=icontact&utm_medium=email&utm_content=Ruger_LC9&utm_campaign=GGG Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 05-20-2011 WRXtranceformed Wrote:If I went through the process of getting an FFL, does that mean that I would still have to fill out forms locally every time I need to buy a gun in NC? LOL, if you go through the process of getting an FFL (which is a long, drawn out, and difficult process) then no, you don't have to fill out forms locally every time you buy a gun in NC. Or anywhere. You can have guns mailed to your house. In bulk. But, if I were you, just get a CWP and be done with it. A Federal Firearms License is for people who sell, build, and repair guns for a living. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-21-2011 CaptainHenreh Wrote:You are the man, thanks. I will do my CWP class here it's just a matter of finding the time.WRXtranceformed Wrote:If I went through the process of getting an FFL, does that mean that I would still have to fill out forms locally every time I need to buy a gun in NC? Or would that give me a hall pass to purchase whenever? For you guys in the know, where would you recommend shopping for a pistol case to take my pieces to and from the range? What brand would you recommend? I did some quick research and it looks like Pelican is good. All I really know is that I want a hard case with foam on the inside that will last for a while. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 05-21-2011 WRXtranceformed Wrote:I did some quick research and it looks like Pelican is good. Pelican is great. If you find a pelican case you like, IT WILL NOT fail you. They're just pricey. Plano is the other brand that's fairly trustworthy. However, I'll tell you. You ought to consider a soft side range bag. I can carry to the range in one bag my pistol, julie's pistol, the 22, 10 mags, and enough ammo to enjoy for an hour or two. If you're looking for a case for storage though, do some research on the foam. You do NOT want something that will hold moisture, and consider some dessicant to keep your heater nice and dry. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - CaptainHenreh - 05-30-2011 Speaking of pricey, rexy bought a fotayfive.
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Goodspeed - 05-30-2011 B-A. Vincent approves.
Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - NTIman - 05-31-2011 Picked up a Kahr CW9 to use as a carry weapon a few weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to shoot it much, but so far it seems pretty nice. Also, in the process of getting my VA CHP. Hopefully I'll get it in the next week or so. Re: Official MM Firearms Thread - Ryan T - 05-31-2011 NTIman Wrote:Also, in the process of getting my VA CHP. Hopefully I'll get it in the next week or so. How long ago did you turn in all your paperwork to the clerk? After I turned everything in it was less than 2 weeks. On a side note, it costs $10 to change your address on your CHP, same as a drivers license. Wasn't expecting that. My original plan was to go the route of the $350 sig that Rex found, but after looking the the size of the Kahr, plus the price ($439), and I could walk out the door with it that day, it was a pretty easy decision, especially since I'm kind of small and don't have a lot of loose fitting clothing to conceal a handgun with a double stack magazine. |
