Which is funny because I'm looking into this, and according to Wikipedia the Panthers are owned by Robert Bullock, who died in 1905.

Maybe that's part of the problem.

Rofl, wiki-lose.

Bai bai Zorn, not a huge surprise though.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Coach Jim Zorn was fired by the Washington Redskins early Monday, the first step in yet another team overhaul under owner Dan Snyder.

Zorn was informed of his dismissal shortly after the team returned to Redskins Park following Sunday's season-ending 23-20 loss at San Diego.

Zorn went 12-20 over two seasons, but he lost 18 of his last 24 games after a 6-2 start in 2008. The Redskins struggled early despite a weak schedule this season and finished 4-12, their worst record since 1994.

"The status quo is not acceptable," new Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said in a statement released by the team. "I felt it was necessary to not waste a moment of time to begin building this team into a winner."

Zorn's replacement will be Washington's seventh coach since Snyder bought the team in 1999. Playing a role in the decision will be Allen, who was hired as the GM last month.

Zorn's dismissal had been expected for months. The front office stripped him of his play-calling duties in late October, and Snyder interviewed assistant coach Jerry Gray for the job weeks ago, according to the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which monitors minority hiring in the NFL.

Former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan is considered the favorite to replace Zorn. The new coach, Snyder and Allen will have a monumental task to rebuild a team with many roster deficiencies and major questions at offensive line, quarterback and running back.

This season's team was hurt by numerous injuries, a lack of depth and many off-the-field distractions but also by an inability of Zorn's West Coast offense to consistently find the end zone. The Redskins failed to score more than 17 points in their first eight games, prompting the front office to bring longtime NFL assistant coach Sherm Lewis out of retirement as an offensive consultant and play-caller.

Zorn, who had never previously been a head coach or coordinator in the NFL, wasn't even on Snyder's list of candidates when Joe Gibbs retired at the end of the 2007 season. Zorn become a last-minute option when other contenders either showed no interest, dropped out or were deemed unsatisfactory. Snyder initially hired Zorn to be the offensive coordinator, then promoted him to head coach two weeks later after an extensive interview.

Ok I'm full of poop, it's just a rumor that he's dating one of the daughters / granddaughters of Jerry Richardson. He's married to his high school sweetheart. It honestly wouldn't surprise me though with how often NFL stars cheat on their spouses.

Anyone else (besides derecola) who was rooting for the Chargers?

I was actually rooting for them. Okay I wasn't, but I would have found hilarity in them whoring the draft pick.

Re: How bout them skins? - Mike - 03-05-2010

So... big moves...

I like them all.

Randle El - Just a name. Never produced much, too short, too much show... Then again, he cost surprisingly little.
Griffin - Old, overpaid, underperforming.
Thomas - Old, injuries have caught up with him.
Cartwright - A backup backup that has simply been around too long. Get some new blood in there.
Smoot - I've always hated this motherfucker. He's a mouth, not a football player. See ya, bitch.
Betts - Again, we know he's a decent backup, but there are tons of them around... Let's get some new blood.
Collins - Again, time for new blood.
Mason - Kind of surprised considering we also dropped Rock and Ladell, but he's not an NFL back. Might as well try something new.
Williams - Who cares? Not a pro.
Skolnitsy - Again, not a pro.

We clearly have something up our sleeves at RB. Could we possibly be bringing in a big name for a one-two punch? Westbrook? He's from DC, his brother plays for us, I love him...

Maybe move Orakpo to DE, where he prefers, and bring in Dansby to fill in at LB? Daniels needs to move to a backup role. In fact, I'm surprised we didn't get rid of him. Edit: So we're going 3-4. Interesting. I don't know how much that changes, though... Will just bring one of our backups onto the field... I think HB Blades could handle a starting spot.

Maybe bring in Kevin Walter? Shanahan likes his big receivers... Or maybe he's just opening up room for the young guys we've been courting?

lookin' forward to this season with all these cuts, the new editions we'll be getting on top of the new coach and gen manager. The only one I'm bummed about is betts. He was a hoss on the field.

They just gonna roll without a QB? Couldn't do much worse...the ultimate wildcat offense...

Dude Matt Moore is the man! We won the last few games of the season with him at the helm. Maybe the teams were just coasting, but he looked very composed and calm. I think we could do worse.

You could have Jason Campbell....

Re: How bout them skins? - WRXtranceformed - 03-05-2010

Yeah I'll pass on Campbell.

Re: How bout them skins? - Mike - 03-14-2010

Can't say I saw that coming, but maybe I should have? We don't typically take "problem children," but we're all about big names with no career left...

SIGH.

Re: How bout them skins? - Evan - 03-15-2010

would have much rather had LT, but maybe he wanted too much money? (since when did that matter to snyder...)

Re: How bout them skins? - Mike - 03-17-2010

The bright side of getting Sexy Rexy? We're likely not getting Tebow in the 2nd round.

---

Is that Berrian? I think heÔÇÖs triple-covered. You know what? Fuck it. IÔÇÖm throwing it downfield.

Yeah, I see Jones open on the flank. But fuck that. Dumpoff passes are for faggots. IÔÇÖm fucking Sexy Rexy Grossman. I can get that ball in there. And, even if I canÔÇÖt, I bet IÔÇÖll be able to pull it off the next go round. I like throwing the ball long. It makes my dick hard.

WhatÔÇÖs that? I should throw a quick slant? Fuck that. ThatÔÇÖs gay. Button hook? Gay. Flare out? Gay. Screen pass? Kevin Spacey gay. This is fucking football. You canÔÇÖt just expect wins to come to you. You canÔÇÖt massage that shit. You gotta grab that game by the throat and rape the ever-loving shit out of it. You think a 5-yard out is gonna win you a game? YouÔÇÖre a pussy. This ainÔÇÖt John Shoop running this offense. Sexy RexyÔÇÖs got the arm. The dragon. You gotta unleash the dragon.

Okay, IÔÇÖm throwing it. Nice. Look how far it went. I look good. I bet I made that Pats cheerleader wet her panties with that throw. She fucking wants me. I bet she likes it over a stair railing. I can hit that with 100% accuracy, my dear. Mmmmmm. I am delicious.

Oh shit. Looks like Samuel caught it. Again. Oh well. It still felt fucking great to throw that shit. Tell me that wasnÔÇÖt one of the prettiest passes you ever saw. You know what? Not only am I gonna throw it long the next time we hit the field. IÔÇÖm gonna throw it even longer. Harder. You see that kid in wheelchair sitting in the end zone bleachers? IÔÇÖm gonna nail him right between the fucking eyes with a Sexy Rexy fastball. Why? Because I can.

This is Rex Grossman weÔÇÖre talking about here. WeÔÇÖre talking 210 lbs. of twisted steel and sex appeal. IÔÇÖm not just a gunslinger. IÔÇÖm a cumslinger. Throwing that ball long tells all the Rexettes that I am fucking out there. On the edge. Where I gotta be. The ladies love the danger. The unpredictability. Oh, maybe IÔÇÖll tease them with a pretty touch pass every now and again. But then IÔÇÖm gonna go right back to pumping that ball out for all itÔÇÖs worth. It tells them I throw like I fuck. ThatÔÇÖs how we do things in the sexy business.

Tell me youÔÇÖre not turned on right now. I am.

Guess who got Jake Delhommy?? THE BROWNS! hahaha....perfect place for him actually. Now he can surround himself with suck instead of bringing the rest of the team down.

thank god. i heard rumors that he could be heading to Green Bay as a back-up for Rodgers. i don't think Matt Flynn is that bad and they have Pizzotti (Harvard) in the backfield as well.

fuck, I thought that was just rumor. Grossman sucks, Id much rather have Tebow. the bright side is that he is a backup

Re: How bout them skins? - Mike - 03-17-2010

is he?

Re: How bout them skins? - Steve85 - 03-17-2010

I thought I heard the word "competition" from a coach in discussing the QB position.

Re: How bout them skins? - stevegula - 03-17-2010

Part of me says they probably have to at least pretend to have a competition to even get Orton interested (although I don't see the appeal in having him instead of Collins back as a backup).

Part of me says - fuck it. Have a competition. What's the worst that could happen? Not like Campbell has led us to the playoffs.
