- Ryan T - 09-14-2004 If I was looking for a car to auto-x and drive hard then I'd get the IS300. If I was buying a car for a lot of interstate travel and commuting, I'd get the TSX. - Feersty - 09-15-2004 I saw a black TSX today, so beautiful, I am definitely considering one now. <offtopic>Has anyone seen the silver A4 1.8T with the bigass FMIC driving around campus. The car is so sexy. It also has black rims with a polished lip and tinted windows.</offtopic> - bassmangrammy - 09-19-2004 There is a black TSX parked in the driveway of the house that backs up to mine. I can't decide whether the back end is angry or it need some Botox. Too much "Zen" for me. - bassmangrammy - 09-19-2004 Ryan T Wrote:The ES300 is the camry. There is no toyota equivalent to the GS400/430. They are both RWD sedans, and Toyota does not have a RWD sedan in their lineup. What if you put a wing and a gold "L" on a Camry. That would be super fast. - LorenaBeana - 09-21-2004 GOODNESS! All this talk about my car and I just noticed! Well, let me tell ya'll: I wanted a mkiv supra TT, but didn't want the price or the cop appeal. So I looked at the RX8, IS300, and 350Z. RX8: Very fun car, roomy back seat (relatively) megablindspots, brand new model (minus) 350Z: I drove the track model - very awesome ride..., not cool price, only 2 seats, and HUGE blindspots IS300: 2jz-ge vvt-i, v6 (tired of NA I4 engines), roomyish backseat, still a toyota The one I bought had 5k miles on it, 2003, 5spd, leather, sun/moonroof, blue...pretty much everything I wanted...and I saved a bunch of money since it was taken off the lot. The back wheels are really easy to slip, it gives plenty of power, smooth as silk. My Dad wants to buy it when he's done with the supra even! I've learned that driving a lexus is...not cool. I tell people you bought a new car, and they ask what it is, and I have to explain myself after I say it's a Lexus, so they don't think I'm made of money or something. But then, I'm not a pimply little chrome-tipped japanese ricer that doesn't have a job, now am I? Other minuses are the weight and the gas milage. But seriously...what person that cares about their driving experience cares about fuel economy? I'm not out to save the planet. Anyway, I'm very happy with my selection, and I'd post pictures of it up , if I knew how! - JohnC - 09-21-2004 LorenaBeana Wrote:]IS300: 2jz-ge vvt-i, v6 (tired of NA I4 engines) :?: - .RJ - 09-21-2004 You know, the 2jz. If you ordered some overnight parts from japan, you'd own all at racewars next month. - Dave - 09-21-2004 Loreeeeeeeena how dare you call it a V6! I know you know better than that. Explain yourself :-). - Mike - 09-21-2004 she's a fraud! - ScottyB - 09-21-2004 LorenaBeana Wrote:But seriously...what person that cares about their driving experience cares about fuel economy? Good gas mileage on a sports/sportish car is just kind of a bonus for us but not necessarily a requirement. - ScottyB - 09-22-2004 on an FD, you gotta worry about mpq (miles per quart....of oil) too  oh man i want one.... - Mike - 09-22-2004 ScottyB Wrote:on an FD, you gotta worry about mpq (miles per quart....of oil) too  that is definitely something to consider. john w/ the 350z told me that he puts a quart of oil in with every fillup on his daily driver (a banana1esque accord). - .RJ - 09-22-2004 Yeah but that accord has 300,000 miles on it, I think he paid well under a grand for it. - Mike - 09-22-2004 oh i know, i'm just saying. when you guzzle oil like that it is something to consider when weighing costs... - LorenaBeana - 09-22-2004 Oh my gosh...did I say V6? What the heck was I thinking? I pride myself in the fact that it doesn't succomb to the V6 bandwagon. Geesh...I apologize guys...how embarassing! - Mike - 09-23-2004 yeah, uh you're cut. - Dave - 09-23-2004 "if you were my wife, I'd take you down a notch" - Feersty - 09-23-2004 .RJ Wrote:Yeah but that accord has 300,000 miles on it, I think he paid well under a grand for it.
