worth quoting.

Evan Wrote::lol:
its like they give you guys a script when you leave the city that you use to try to convince people that cardboard with cheap greasy cheese on top tastes good.

I have had pizza in NY, many times. It sucked.
Your script now says for you to tell me I didnt go to the right place in NY (Ive heard it before)
so I went to several of those places recommended by 'real NYers' guess what. its still limp dried out dough with a sliver of sauce and cheap greasy cheese on top that tastes like cardboard.

italian food in little italy - amazing. pizza from anywhere in NY? fuck off. that shit is nasty.
i still dont understand why so much NY pride is tied up in that shit

So much hostility. We are just talking food guys. BTW Evan, thanks for ever getting back to me about that touchpad

Re: Good Eats - Ken - 10-27-2011

lol seriously, man really dislikes NY pizza.

Do you need one (touchpad) still? I have a factory sealed one still.

PM me with a price...I may be depending on that. Also for the record, I love NY style pizza.

He'll see to it you get the 'Friends of NY Pizza' discount

Re: Good Eats - Goodspeed - 10-27-2011

This all reminds me, if you are in desperate need of a good pizza in Nova, this place is legit:

Some of the best pizza I've had in my lifetime.

Re: Good Eats - G.Irish - 10-27-2011

If you like Neopolitan-style pizza, Matchbox in Chinatown is rather delicious, as is Red Rocks Pizzeria in Columbia Heights. There's another Red Rocks in Alexandria but I've never been. At Matchbox try the Matchbox Meat pizza, the seasoning on the meats is amazing.

Re: Good Eats - Apoc - 10-27-2011

<3 Matchbox's Spicy Meatball Pizza

Re: Good Eats - fiveoh2go - 10-27-2011

Anybody ever been to Lost Dog Pizza in Arlington? I thought it was pretty good, but kinda expensive for what you got. :dunno:

And yes, Matchbox in Chinatown is good too.

Re: Good Eats - WRXtranceformed - 10-27-2011

I put together a long drawn out post about good places to eat in Charlotte by genre in case any of you all ever make it down this way for a race or something. Then I accidentally hit the back button and lost it.

So yeah, just give me a shout the next time any of you guys are in town and if I'm here I'll meet you for dinner and if not I'll give you some good suggestions Smile

Re: Good Eats - .RJ - 10-27-2011

Red rocks, fireworks lost dog and matchbox are good stuff.

I tried this place a few weeks ago - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://petesapizza.com/">http://petesapizza.com/</a><!-- m --> - they do half price monday nights (thanks for the tip, Mikey) and it was pretty damn good. Maybe not for everyone, but I really liked it.

i live literally next-door from there and i'm the duke so my opinion IS right.. i find their pizza to be shit. the sauce is terrible and the crust lacks anything going on.

my top picks for the area (no order):
` pie-tanza
` pete's apizza
` matchbox (only because of spicy-a meat-aball-a)
` italian store
` pizzeria paradiso

i really need to try 2 amys.

pizza is serious business.
I told you the touchpad is yours if youre in the area. Not sure how you thought a 2 person handoff across the entire state of VA without even paying for it was going to work out.

2 pages of pizza talk and Dr. Hos Humble Pie hasnt been mentioned? MM classic. Hippies make awesome pizza.

matchbox is excellent. (and owned by an SM racer)
vace italian deli in cleveland park is really good, and cheap.
Dont waste your time with 2 amys. Anne and I both laughed at how bad it was (compared to the reputation)

Ever make the trek to Lancaster's BBQ in Mooresville? That place is delicious.

In Richmond, my favorite places are Banditos, a tex-mexy type of place, Bottoms Up Pizza, which has pizza that doesn't takse like cardboard, and Buz and Ned's BBQ. Starlite Lounge is also pretty good, especially for drinks. There are a ton of others, but those stick out.

In Winchester, there are a few places decent. If i'm going out for drinks and food, I like Brewbakers downtown, and other than that, we have Snow White Grill (which is supposed to be closing), and Papermill Place, which has just about everything you can think of, and it's cheap.

Re: Good Eats - Apoc - 10-28-2011

Thai Winchester is pretty good. I'll leave it to you to figure out what and where it is.

Re: Good Eats - HAULN-SS - 10-28-2011

Snow White is closing? Damn, didnt know that =( I've had many a drunk burger and corn dog on that place.

Re: Good Eats - Cody - 10-28-2011

Goodspeed. That looks like it has potential.

This is from one of my favorite places abroad in Reggio Calabria. They have a pizza with 3 different types of Bufalo Mozzarella on it.

Warning this will make you hungry....

Oh yeah, apparently there's a location in Miami, FL?? Road trip

Re: Good Eats - JPolen01 - 02-16-2012

Anyone ever eat at The Smokin Pig? Saw it downtown the other day, but haven't heard anyone ever talking about. Reviews online are for and against. Looking for somewhere to get some dinner tonight. Any recommendations?
