Right now I'm in a 7 year old Citizen Calibre 5700, and while it's been a good watch, it's starting to act flaky. I have a casio pathfinder that has been a really great watch. It's tolerated everything from cars to rock climbing and everything between. It's 4 years old, never comes off my wrist, and has lasted 4x as long as any previous outdoor watch I've had. Also, I'd have to damn near tie myself down to not reverse the polarization. MUST RESIST URGE TO TINKER. Re: The WANT Thread - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2012 In the sub-$300 range check out any of the Seiko watches. If you ever make it up to Leesburg, the outlet mall has a Seiko outlet that I have bought several watches from over the years. I still have one of their Kinetic watches (motion-charged) and it has held up really well. Dont remember exactly what I paid but I think it was under $200. It looks almost exactly like this one. It has a window on the back of the watch that lets you see all of the internals, kind of cool: ![]() I don't own any but Fossil makes some nice affordable watches too. Re: The WANT Thread - SlimKlim - 10-08-2012 Y'all are fancy, my watch has a battery Re: The WANT Thread - premiershine9 - 10-08-2012 Happy with my seiko so far- had several Fossils before and never was really happy with them but if you are looking for a watch around $100 to $150 max then you can find a Fossil that looks like a 1K watch easily- they are pretty stylish IMO and a great deal! There are a few IWCs that I have had my eye on too but I'd like to take baby steps on the watch collection  I don't mind a heavy watch but it would take some getting used to...both of my Ecodrives are all titanium, soooo light.WRXtranceformed Wrote:Lusting after this on Amazon right now. It's about as cheap as we found it in the islands for Columbus Day sale. IWC= WANT. Love them!! Also- the Tissot PRC 200 is on my list- very similar to the Sportura Re: The WANT Thread - CaptainHenreh - 10-08-2012 Well, I'd really like a stopwatch. My Citizen has one, even though it only goes to 30 minutes, it's still nice. However, sometime in the past 7 years, the hand for the stopwatch has gone "off", so it starts before zero and ends before 30.....so it's kind of useless now. Re: The WANT Thread - premiershine9 - 10-08-2012 Stopwatch= Chronograph you can easily find a Chrono for around $100 Enjoy http://www.fossil.com/webapp/wcs/stores ... ge=ViewAll
Re: The WANT Thread - CaptainHenreh - 10-08-2012 premiershine9 Wrote:Stopwatch= Chronograph Yeah, I know, I was saying that for lee's benefit. If I laid out my requirements: Needs: Chronograph Metal Band No battery (either solar or motion) Nice-to-Haves: Atomic timekeeping Button clasp Alarm? Despite what I said earlier, I'm looking at this: http://www.amazon.com/Casio-PAW1500T-7V ... Re: The WANT Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-13-2013 My watch collection is starting to grow thanks to my boss who is a watch fanatic. He just bought this one for his 30th birthday and I am supremely jealous and have just added a new watch to my dream list: ![]() ![]() It's surprisingly heavy actually for an all carbon fiber watch...testament to the movement inside of it. He got a stupid good deal on it at a local jeweler when someone returned it brand new and had to sell it "like new"...it was literally returned 2 days later. I am still rocking a pair of titanium Citizens I bought last year but have added a few more to the collection. A couple of Invictas (more show than go) and a my first G-shock that I am in love with. This one came with a sweet yellow waterproof impact case that holds 3 watches: ![]() ![]() Picked up this one for myself and 3 others for my groomsmen: ![]() White Special Edition G-shock ![]() This one is in the mail for my fiance's birthday to match it: I also snagged an August Steiner pocketwatch for the fiance's grandfather (who collects them) and a Lucien Piccard leather band watch for her father for wedding gifts. ![]() I have a few Citizens and a few others on my "watch list" as well as some G-Shocks for everyday wear. I still haven't gotten deep enough down the rabbit hole to justify spending a couple grand on a watch yet; I would rather put that kind of free income into guns right now. ![]() Atomic and solar powered G-shock: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All black Nighthawk: ![]() Last but definitely not least the Garmin S2 or S3 for the course:

I drive a Ferrari, 355 Cabriolet, What's up? I have a ridiculous house in the South Fork. I have every toy you could possibly imagine. And best of all kids, I am liquid. Re: The WANT Thread - Evan - 05-13-2013 I really dont 'get' watches. I have a nice titanium seiko that I never wear. My wife bought me a tungsten watch to match my wedding ring. I hate it. I thought if anything would make me wear a watch it would be a data-connected 'smart' watch so I bought a pebble. I just sold it because I cant stand having something around my wrist all day. My phone tells great time. I guess Im just not into man-jewelry. Re: The WANT Thread - WRXtranceformed - 05-13-2013 They are just like any other vice, you either like them or you don't. Your professional appearance matters in a little more in my line of work than say, computer programming. Regardless of that I like watches purely for the aesthetics and on higher end watches the level of detail and craftsmanship that go into them. I don't get Miatas but a lot of people like them and drive them for what could be considered valid reasons
