Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Jeff - 04-02-2010 Saw pics of that searching but only could find it in thumbnails. Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - REED - 12-07-2010 I know this is way way back from the dead and fairly irrelevant since mikey isn't going anywhere, but I saw one of these in my garage this weekend and I thought of this thread.....so I guess, if someone else was looking........here ya go http://www.ursaminorvehicles.com/camper.htm anyway.....carrry on Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - D_Eclipse9916 - 12-07-2010 Ya know, kind of on topic for this. I bought the Denali witht intent of sleeping in the back of it. OF course it isnt nearly as fuel effficient as a honda element, but with removeable third row (that I typically have out unless I need it), and a COMPLETE flat fold down of the second row, my queen air mattress fits in the back of the denali. In fact that is what I use for the track. Ive learned a few things about sleeping in a car to know. Most of the heat I seem to lose is through the floor, I would stack tons of blankets on top of me in sub 30 degree weather and be hot on top, but feel the cold creeping in below. So now I make sure to layer one blanket below the matress and that solved the problem. One single heater is enough to keep the car warm with two adults in up to 20 degree weather (so far). Now of course we could go out and wear thermals or go into sleeping bags, but the point was to sleep comfortably in what we usually do. AKA, Cassie and I slept in the denali in 20-30 degree temps two nights in a row iwht me in my boxers and I was fine. It also has cupholders and flat spaces in the back that ironically come in handy a lot when your sleeping there, it serves to hold your water or laptop or whatever. It took a few times to get the kinks worked out, where we WERENT comfortable till we determined what we needed. PS- If your going to be sleeping, I highly suggest heavy tint on the rear windows, makes it feel way more homey but dont expect to sleep naked Well unless you like showing off.
Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Maengelito - 12-07-2010 remind me to never ever get inside your Denali, especially at the track Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - CaptainHenreh - 12-07-2010 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:<some stuff> AKA, Cassie and I slept in the denali <some other stuff> Not to be all Grammar Nazi on you, but wtf is AKA doing there? I had to read your paragraph twice to parse it... Not in thermals/jeans/2 pairs of socks etc. Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - D_Eclipse9916 - 12-07-2010 Maengelito Wrote:remind me to never ever get inside your Denali, especially at the track And omg, remind me to never ride in your car, go anywhere near your house, etc etc. Your a car guy, id be surprised if some girl hasnt wanted to in/on the car etc. (yes thats a crappy sentence but I was trying to make it as PG as possible). Edit: Unless your one of those couples that never has sex outside the bedroom. I think the abbreviation you're looking for is "i.e." (latin for 'id est'--'that is') which is generally taken in place of "in other words" Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - HAULN-SS - 12-07-2010 Haha..I concur Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Maengelito - 12-07-2010 D_Eclipse9916 Wrote:Maengelito Wrote:remind me to never ever get inside your Denali, especially at the track lol, unless the top was down, I'm not sure there's enough room in the S2000 Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Steve85 - 12-07-2010 No excuses Maeng... if my friend who is quite tall for a woman can do it in a Lotus... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://citygirlblogs.com/blog/sex-in-a-lotus-elise-yes-its-possible">http://citygirlblogs.com/blog/sex-in-a-lotus-elise-yes-its-possible</a><!-- m --> Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Ryan T - 12-07-2010 It can be done in a SS or a Corvette, not exactly the most romantic thing but doable. BTW I'm referring to sex, not sleep. Although I have slept in my SS and in my Supra. It sucked. Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Sully - 12-07-2010 Bed of my pickup with tailgate open and toneu cover closed, and a tarped draped over the back(summer and spring). Tried it out camping and we experienced what I can only describe as a lake hurricane, I stayed drier than anyone in a tent that night although my tarp let in some water and the bungee cords scratched my hella flush paint job. Set it up in 5 minutes as the rain started though so it wasn't that bad in my mind. Edit: thread went south as I was posting so to stay on topic, I guess it would also be possible in the back but u don't have a lot of head room to work with Re: Best vehicles to sleep in - Maengelito - 12-07-2010 Ryan T Wrote:It can be done in a SS or a Corvette, not exactly the most romantic thing but doable.
