I'd guess it isn't the t-belt. Usually one tooth off will make an engine run like shit. Total shit. All the time. Could be bad wires, especially if it usually starts running bad after they get warm.

After taking care of some outstanding maintenance items, thermostat, wires and plugs, I went back to the basics of fuel, spark, compression. I ignored the codes this time and went by how the car felt, the miss didn't really feel random when it was there, but did feel bad...I guess that's what happens when you lose 1/4 of an engine.
I narrowed it down to #4 cylinder, disconnecting the injector made no change in idle. Rechecked compression and did leakdown (damn it's easy on this engine), made sure wire and plug were good (spark checker and swapped plug with #1) and finally swapped injector with #1 and the miss went with it. I ohm'ed the injector and listened to it click away like the others but it was definitely dead. Yay!
Quickly found some injectors on CL for cheap (1 in 4 chance of a good one) and replaced the bad one this morning. Running great again and consistent heat with the new thermostat.
Hopefully that is it. I mean, the injector was definitely bad, but there were so many codes initially. Plugs were pretty bad though - worn to about a .070 gap. I was really surprised the miss didn't go away with the new plugs. I found the set I thought I put in with the new timing belt :oops:

nice! chasing random codes is a definite PITA. i guess with the mileage you have on that thing, it has a right to dump an injector on you :o

Yup, the definition of "maintenance item" definitely expands as you approach 200K.

Quick update on recent history. Replaced timing belt again about last October I think. Over the last couple weeks I replaced the front wheel bearings. Right front was really bad, loud as hell and just starting to get loose. It's an easy job, but had to pay Larry, Curly and Moe $40 for the press work on each bearing. Just crossed over 226K so I replaced the O2 sensors. It needs a cat but otherwise just chugging along.
I wish it would fucking die so I could easily justify another car.

Replaced the needed cat. I went with a replacement grade unit from Magnaflow. Really cannot believe how easily it unbolted. I sprayed everything with JB80, wire brushed the rust off so they would be 13mm again and hit them with a 1/2 air impact. I was ready for heat, cutting, drilling, cursing and it went surprisingly well.
I'm currently in the market for something else, likely a 2011ish crossover type vehicle. Leaning towards the Edge right now, and trying not to buy a 2005 Cayenne by accident.

So what's an Integra GS with 246K worth?
Body has various minor things but is good from 10 feet, leather is still good with some typical wear on the driver seat, oil seep at the cam seal on the left side of the head, tricky driver power window switch but always works. Tires prolly have 25-30K in them yet. Everything works and it just goes...
I'll throw up some photos and an actual for sale ad after the thaw but if you know anyone that might interested let me know.
Start at $2.5K?

thats WAY more then it is worth... you made out like a bandit.
at least you did all the hard work. I'm at 232k from 198k a little over a year ago... all i've had to do is a radiator and a clutch master.

Now that you mention it - unless the clutch was done before I got it @91K miles, it's still on the original
I took the time to detail it fairly well (not a Dan detail of course) so it presented way better than most. The guy is probably close to my age and grew up drag racing a CRX with his friends so I think it helped he was a Honda fan.
Definitely the easiest car sale so far. :thumbup:
