Looks like im just doing a simple rebuild.
Wiseco Pistons, Eagle Rods, ACL rod and main bearings, hottanked/bored/honed to .20 over and then all assembled for about 1500 bucks. After looking around, prices for the parts are about 990-1100. so that makes machine work around 500 bucks including assembly, which I have found is an amazing deal, at least around here for machine work prices (unless you guys know anyone better?)
yeah thats a killer deal. i was quoted $1600 just for labor for a bottom end rebuild.
just make sure you are actually getting what you are paying for.
ask kaan about that....

Yeah ill be making sure, plus its my friend I knew before he even opened up shop, he has always gotten me killer deals on some things.

Like remember when I got frustrated with all those AN fittings? I had him redo all the fittings and redo all the lines.....for free.

No way, Slowboy Racing is doing all the machining and assembly work. They are one of the leading dsm/evo guys in the nation.

You should have sent it to me. Now you will never be as fast as the king.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 03-28-2008

Ha! The king is turning pussy, he says he doesnt feel safe at 200mph, so he is starting to tube the car instead of just running a real frame dsm. booo!!!

Hey DJ, if you need another rollbar option let me know. I used a guy in Powhatan, VA near Richmond who mainly does dirt track and circle track cars, but I feel he did a pretty good job on my rollbar. Mine was $975, and can be added onto later to finish the cage.

Thanks to Kaan for letting me borrow the engine hoist and engine stand, the motor is out of the car. I got impatient today waiting for my friend to get off of work so I could have someone to help me wrestle it out, so I went ahead and did it by myself. Keeping the engine steady while I wrestled the engine hoist over to another part of the garage was fun, thats where I wanted my friend for. Oh well, she looks so empty now without her heart.

lol I dont own a honda....The only thing that was attempted to be stolen on my car was my rims, my alarm along with locking lug nuts saved them.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 07-11-2008

Guy offered his Evo IX MR Recaro seats for my 2 Momo Supercup seats. Thinking of doing it now that I really think I may be going to China for a few years after graduation and would like this car to be more daily driver-ish, and its still gonna cost me a few bucks to get a bracket made for my momos. With a roll bar and harnesses I think these will still hopefully hold me in enough for autox and hpde work. Plus I dont think the Momos are gonna hold up very well for years to come, my sparco had good cloth, the momos look like they will wear really quickly and fade. Might as well get out of them now while they are in good condition. If I get the IX recaros and dont like em ill sell em for 10-1100 dollars which people are apparently getting (ridiculous much?) on evolutionm.net, which is a lot more than the 400 I paid for the pair of momos.

These are an identical set, pics pending on the guy's particular ones although he said they were in excellent condition.
