Managed to make a mess of that axle job - chipped the trans case, broke 1 axle seal and banged the shit out of the 1/2 shaft bearing. But the axles are new  My hands are still black from the old axle grease.

axle changes are a bitch. I don't wish it upon anyone

Just a little update:

Cash has been a little tight (trying not to go into any more CC debt than I already am in.)

-Replaced stereo & speakers with existing/cheap pieces (even a track car needs tunes)
-Re-gutted the interior
-BOOST GAUGE!
-Repainted the hood
-New battery
-Fixed cigarette lighter

-Suspension (KYB / Eibach), 2g manifold and 255 pump this weekend (it was c.h.e.a.p)
-Have all parts to do a timing belt, just been lazy (calling DJ).

DJ/DSM somebody - know how to disable a 1g factory alarm without disabling the horn?

- ViPER1313 - 07-09-2008

Front suspension installed.

Need to get some new tires and install the timing belt next. Any DSM gurus want to help out this weekend?

- D_Eclipse9916 - 07-22-2008

yes im china, but ill be back august 2nd. Engine is still up in the air when itll be done, goddman having it done by good shops, means the fucking wait time is waaaaaaaaaayy too long.

OK, this offer is up for grabs for anyone who wants some extra dough...

This car still needs a decent amount of work done to it, and I just don't have the time to take care of most of this stuff. Car needs:

-Valve cover gasket replaced
-Full timing belt job (water pump, all belts, cam and crank seals).
-Replace exhaust manifold & 3+ broken studs.
-Flush transfer case and rear diff fluid.
-Fix leaking oil return line for the turbo.

I have all the parts needed to do the timing belt and a new manifold, just no time or garage. If someone is willing to do this work I can drop the car off, throw you a couple bills, some beer and pay for any other parts that are needed along the way.

You know there are places called repair shops that will do this for you, right?

Its a neat arrangement. You pay them money, and they fix your car.

RJ - are you serious? Where can I find one of these locations? I never knew some shops would fix your car for money?!?!!!! Pork chop sandwiches!

The labor estimate alone for a timing belt job was over $500 from 3+ shops. When I was in college I was usually

1.Broke
2. Bored
3. Broke and Bored

and a lot of people in MM are mechanically inclined. So if someone in MM is suffering from 1, 2 or 3 would like to help me out, hit me up.

But you want someone else to do that, plus fix snapped off exhaust manifold studs for "a few bills and some beer" ?

Good luck with that.

You're right......

I will also throw in RJ's sister as part of the deal.

you know a valve cover gasket is like a 5 minute job, right?

Yes.

If you put the car out in front of your house with a "If you can fix her you can have her" sign I'll be by to get it.
