I don't think that I will be able to make the Friday evening obligation but would I still be able to get a hotel room(Friday night)?

- Chris - 07-18-2004

As long as you commit to working Sat Sunday, I dont' see why that would be a problem. Jay will be working Friday night, so he'll be in the worker room where you can stay.

That's right. The MM room will be available both Friday and Saturday night to any of the MM workers, but I would need to know whose name to put the room under (whoever would be checking in first).

Jay- Flagging
Mike ?

I'm driving, but will be helping out wherever I can. Don't put me down as a worker.

Thankfully, we leave that to Dave-the announcer type dude.

uh.... thankfully ??

Workers:

Jay- Friday night (tech/reg.), Sat/Sun. (flagging or elsewhere if needed).

Rob- Sat/Sun (tech in the mornings, grid and or timing and scoring).

Anyone else?

Better to have a set schedule and assignments rather than "this or that or elsewhere".

The confusion for who needs to be where (and when) really has to be eliminated.

i agree. I also think that part of the responsibility of this relys on the workers to find out when/where they are working and who to talk to. I plan on talking to Mark when i get in town and i asked him a couple questions regarding friday in an email.

theguywiththeSi Wrote:part of the responsibility of this relys on the workers to find out when/where they are working and who to talk to

They shouldnt have to - if you leave it up to the workers to find out, you'll end up talking to some people that have no idea whats going on, and send you somewhere other than where you're supposed to be.

- Dragon - 07-19-2004

Chris I'd check with Laura to be sure that the 4 workers they're asking for includes the corner workers that Mark asked for. If not it looks like there will be room for 5 or 6 MM workers, 4 which will be dedicated to working in the paddock area 2 for Grid 2 for T&S, and then additional workers to help double up stations and man turn 16.

- Feersty - 07-19-2004

Yeah Jay said earlier that you would be at a corner, I would assume that is the whole weekend.

I would like to be in Timing and Scoring.

Can Scotty make this event? I know he is closer to VIR.

Ask whoever the POC for this event is (either Chris or Mike?).

Christo is taking over on this one.

Laura will be assigning worker assignments once she receives the list of workers and talks to the chiefs. Rob, I'd tell Chris your preference and have him forward it to Laura.

- Chris - 07-20-2004

Ok,

I'll tell Laura Jay is flagging and Rob wants T&S. She may need you elsewhere so thats up to her. I'm not seeing anyone else who wnats to work, so speak up soon if you do!

- Dragon - 07-20-2004

Chris, did you get confirmation that the corner workers that Mark requested are in addition to the 4 that Laura asked for, or are they included?

C'mon guys let's fill up these worker slots, if y'all don't, the need for MM workers will probably not be there in the future. VIR's a great track, and the stories you'll come back with are more than worth it. Where do you think Drew "The Cow" Manzella came from, McNasty's, and all the other shit.

- Chris - 07-20-2004

Matt,

I'll let you knwo about that.

Laura said she needs to know by this Friday if anyone else is working, or she will fill the other 2 spots.

- Sijray21 - 07-20-2004

So i'm working the corners on Sat/Sun, am i included in the 4 originally requested?

- .RJ - 07-20-2004

Haha! McNasty's.

*IMHO* Chris should have a copy of the worker list with assignments so there's no confusion and he can inform the volunteers with any questions.
