heh..yeah..but i'm out of here soon, one way or the other..adjudication starts may 8th

I dunno wtf i'm going to do if my shizzle doesnt come through...i don't really want to do anything other than intel. work..regular uncleared development work kind of makes me want to vom. (no offense to anyone who is in that area)

i have the level ranges - i got screwed at my last reveiw since i was at the top of the pay scale and they gave me a shit raise.. but i am glad i had the out of cycle

- HAULN-SS - 05-03-2007

yeah..that's what i meant about trying to be in the middle all the time - makes your raises the best bang for the effort

- Feersty - 05-03-2007

I am just saying this make you laugh, but I got a better raise by getting laid off then waiting for what was going to be a shitty review.

- mrbaggio - 05-04-2007

Shitty review? Did you get fired or laid off?

once you get the cashmoneyfuckinbling just make sure you don't start coveting mad shit. it can sneak up on you.

i'm kinda late to chime in on this, but i'd wait the 3 weeks to see the outcome. However, if you're really interested in the sales job, i'd just make sure that doesn't slip out of your hands. If i were you Mike, i'd just make your threats of leaving a real one. Whether it be receiving offers from other companies or the final ties needed to switch you to another position with better pay, more appreciation, and something more aligned with what you would like to do for work.

On the note of travel - 60% is good, but any more and you'll feel the tax on your personal life. A lot of people think it's vacation and that you actually have time to do 'things' outside of work. Usually they're interested in where you're going and think it's cool if you're down near the beach or in a cool city. Unless you have 'slack hours' the only thing you usually see is the office, the hotel, your coworkers, and a restaurant. I personally think it's best suited for the young, single professional who as ADD. I know it's been said before, but travelling on a Sunday sucks - it ruins your weekend. When i'm on a project that's not near the DC area i travel every week and it's usually M-Th, but anything other than those days or for a long amount of time and it really takes a toll on your personal life. It's distanced me from my friends and family, and i can't see myself doing this for more than a year or two. My coworkers do it with families and small children and i don't understand how they can cope with it.
