- WRXtranceformed - 01-04-2007 You could always start modding the RS to make it more fun!
- Mike - 01-04-2007 how easy is adding a turbo? i'm sure a lot of sti or wrx guys upgrade their stuff so OEM parts are pretty cheap
- JackoliciousLegs - 01-04-2007 I am not turning a wrench in this cold... in that crammed parking lot... haha.. - ScottyB - 01-04-2007 Andy Wrote:If Jack was driving Andrew's Accord Andy's got a good point i totally flew over. your car is nice Jack! it's new, safe, reasonably frugal and quick. i think it would be different if you were drivin that moped your thought about a while back  - WRXtranceformed - 01-04-2007 Mike Wrote:how easy is adding a turbo? i'm sure a lot of sti or wrx guys upgrade their stuff so OEM parts are pretty cheap True! I think I sold Jeff my old WRX intercooler for like 25 bucks? I'm actually not sure how easy it is. The RS 2.5L engine is pretty similar to the WRX / STi, minus the compression needed to run a lot of boost... I think. Most people just end up doing a WRX or STi swap because the logistics of it are way easier. Shoot Jack, with just some great tires, sways, springs, and intake and exhaust work you'd probably have a noticeably more fun car to drive 8) - Feersty - 01-04-2007 Jack what kind of monthly payments were you making on the RS to pay it off so quickly? Did you accelerate the amounts? I would say pay off the RS and get a higher power AWD car. Did you say RWD was out of the question in Chicago. OH yeah, you'll get tired of FWD FYI. - JackoliciousLegs - 01-04-2007 Its already got springs, sways, great tires.... haha... it's fine. I'm just being all crazy since it's new years and bonuses are coming. Feersty, I'm paying it off in $1k-$1500 chunks... no need in keeping a loan out at 9.5% (dad said I didnt need a CC in college... grrrr) if I don't have to. I dunno if I'd get tired of FWD if it's a mini. Those things move pretty well. - Dave - 01-04-2007 meh, that's not a bad % on your loan, I had to pay 14.5% when I got the supra b/c I couldn't get a cosign and I had zero credit. However, I refinanced it a year later for more than I originally borrowed at less than 9%, which means you'll be in good shape from now on. If I were you, I'd pay off the Impreza ASAP, and save everything else. Dump a portion of that into retirement, and the rest can be saved for later. Later= house if you want one or a good deal on a car you want when you find it. Just keep your eyes open and don't jump on the first thing you see. |
