Hey is there anyway I can get a ride with anyone?

- lyltoy - 03-26-2006

how many people are going to be leaving from the 'burg, i would like to either ride up with someone or at least get a group together and drive up that way....if i need to drive I can, but i only have room for one to ride, but i do have a whole lot of room to haul bags and such Big Grin

Rex and I are leaving probably around 4, I get off work at 4 so it'll probably be more like 4:30. We are staying at my parents house cause they live in Winchester, but we can get you to the Shoney's Inn before we go home.

Who here is driving Shenandoah for the first time? Are you studying footage and trying to figure out this damn track. Watching RJ and EvanÔÇÖs footage has really help but I still get disoriented around the track. Does anyone have a better track layout than the crappy one on SummitÔÇÖs website?

Not sure what map's on SP site but I got this one at a carguys weekend,

I probably have a biger one on my home computer if you want it.

NASA doesn't use the Pit Straight so you will turn prior to 15. If you are watching RJ's and Evan's that might be from a carguys weekend where we did use the pit straight. You can watch all the video you want, if this is your first time at Shen, you will be lost. Just listen to your instructor and you will be fine.

^ thats a good map. much better than the other ones Ive seen floating around.
My videos are of the "race" configuration, and the same configuration that you will be running this weekend. As Chad mentioned this eliminates the pit straight, by taking the right hander that is right above the "3" on that map.
The pit straight is used as the hot pits and pit-in.
The chicane is not used

To help you synch up with the map, this video starts just after exiting turn 13 "Big Bend" on the map

also, Nasa runs different turn numbers, I think the Loop is called turn 1 with nasa.
Personally I just call the corners by their names instead of numbers, since every group uses different numbering

That is a good map and evan is correct about the cut thru being the way we will run it. Get there early enough to walk it Sat morning or even friday night. Last year when I drove it...I didn't feel too lost but I can see how people feel that way.
