- KPWSerpiente - 09-26-2005 Jeff....what is the deal with all this progress? You're making everyone here feel pretty bad about letting their project just hang out. -T - .RJ - 09-26-2005 KPWSerpiente Wrote:You're making everyone here feel pretty bad about letting their project just hang out Speak for yourself

Sylvia is being nice enough to let me use it this year. Next year it might go to her name and be her track car / daily. I just wanted some easy BOOST. It has kinda gotten out of hand really...more then we planned on doing to it. But it is comming along real well and it went form a $400 to (after paint) maybe a $2500 car. We could sell it and make some money over our expense...thats always nice. Cool thing to note- The seats that are in this car were made for Chrysler by Recaro...bling bling yo. Found the tag on the bottom and did a bit of reseach. - Jeff - 10-02-2005 Weeeelllll another week is making its way through. I know it is only Saturday but I just wanted to empty the camera and share with the world. So we dig out the spare engine and look her over... ![]() Looks ok on the outside...a little rust but oooook. The turbo and intake came off like a breeze, the first one ever NOT to break a bolt. This is a good sign. Next is to remove the valve cover...here is where it gets fishey. On top of the #3 exhaust valve... ![]() I wonder what could cause this? We turned the cam and noticed that the lifter was seized...so I figured maybe that was it..OFF WITH IT'S HEAD SWEET GOD!!!! ![]() Up close of the carnage!! "It had a little knock" he told me ![]() ![]() KAPOW!!!! And that wasn't even the coolest part... ![]() So yeah...no we don't have an engine for the omni...but its ok. At least we have a bangin' turbo and T2 intake for the tona... ![]() That WG actuator was my big project for today. Made from a 85' T1 "large can" and the bracket from a T2 can. I used a turn buckle to make it longer...and adjustible  ![]() The little can will push open at 14PSI, however it has the mount I needed. This mod goes for like $80 on the net if you have someone else does it. ![]() The newly cleaned intake is standing tall, polished ridges and the purdy vac manifold. Also cleaned out the fuel rail, the injectors, and re-o-ringed it all. ![]() She comes out tomorrow!!! Anyone wanna' come hangout and help? - .RJ - 10-02-2005 Non crossflow cyl heads make baby jesus cry Nice progress Jeff  - ScottyB - 10-02-2005 nice work dude - KPWSerpiente - 10-03-2005 Holy shit that motor got fucked up. I hope mine old one doesn't look that bad when I tear it apart next week. -T - Myuki - 10-03-2005 KPWSerpiente Wrote:Holy shit that motor got fucked up. I hope mine old one doesn't look that bad when I tear it apart next week.call me when you do. I wanna check it out. - Jeff - 10-03-2005 Engine didn't make it out. Almost though. there are only 3 bolts holding it hanin in there. I am gonna...umm..."modify" the cat and other things why it is out and I got a little sidetracked thinking about side projects (spent an hour on getting the DP and cat off). Anyways the wiring harness is undergoing restoration and the mods will go down next weekend and the engine outta make it back in. The only new stuff is the progress there, got my FMIC off to get welded, and I got the EGT probe mounted. - Jeff - 10-03-2005 BTW, if anyone ever wants to come down and hangout and work on this stuff I wouldn't mind some MM help. It sucks working alone, Sylvia is working two jobs (to support my boost habit) and she can't be around much. so yeah...painting the engine bay this comin weekend and doing most of the engine work. - BLAIR - 10-03-2005 that cracked to hell piston looks damn familiar - Jeff - 10-03-2005 Oh, opinions on this. A coulple of guys from turbododge.com said they think my turbo is screwed. I'm gonna look at the wheel as soon as I get home and see. Anyone wanna take wagers? I didn't even think to look there...any opinions on the possibility of bearing damage? - Dave - 10-03-2005 if it spins and all the blades are there, b00st onwards! Eventually they all break, paving the way for the bigger snail .
- Jeff - 10-24-2005 WELLLLL, long time no update. We finally got some work done on the car this weekend. The engine came out... ![]() ![]() The engine bay got pressure washed, degreased, and prepped for paint. ![]() after... ![]() Complete from wiring harness was removed and will be "restored" soon ![]() We need to remove some ghetto wire work and recover everything nice. Just to show, the turbo on the right is the stock mitsu turbo and to the left is the Garrett T3 going out for rebuild this week
- Jeff - 10-24-2005 Garrett in left, mitsu on right
- Ginger - 10-24-2005 Jeff, you're crazy. Keep at it, though, this is pretty durn cool. - JustinG - 10-24-2005 big ups, alotta hard work involved, mad props - Dave - 10-24-2005 good job Jeff. It's gonna be a beast soon, and good-looking at that
