So? - Mike - 04-06-2005 if you had any common sense you'd know jack wasn't saying "you cannot find a vr4 anywhere in the world" and instead was saying "it's really damn difficult to find one in the area that isn't trashed." - Dave - 04-07-2005 myuki, 240s are a lot of fun. If you would like a ride to convince you, ask and ye shall receive. Lemme get my motor back in first tho... as for working on them, peice of cake. If I can do it, anybody can. If you want to buy one with an SR swap already done, expect to pay ~4000 for a decent one, but why do that when you can get a shell for dirt cheap and have all the fun yourself (not to mention the swap isn't that bad) - Myuki - 04-07-2005 Dave Wrote:myuki, 240s are a lot of fun. It gets you both of those things. Your mechanical skills WILL improve, or you got no ride! - Jeff - 04-07-2005 Mike Wrote:who wants to drive a dodge spirit? Don't rip on that car man. That is an R/T. 205hp, DOHC, 2.2L, intercooled Turbo III. Those are beast, I just hate the body. So I agree to the statement "who would want to drive one" in general, but even I would take that one. - Jeff - 04-07-2005 To stay on topic. I have 3 letters for you son... GLH. Join me, come to the 2.2L turbo side. Shit, for 3,000 you can buy one that is like new inside and out. The miles will be high but most likely it will have had allot of work done to it. The 2.2L motor is a very good 4-banger. ItÔÇÖs (beside the occasional head gasket) the most reliable and fun engine Chrysler has ever used in a FWD car. Cheap and plentiful are parts and they are easy as pie to work on. 145hp for $3000...and good MPG to boot...deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 69963&rd=1 ![]() This one even has a roll cage and lots of speed parts. It is far away but I am using it for example. I found it AFTER writing what I did above. - ViPER1313 - 04-07-2005 TurboOmni08 Wrote:205hp, DOHC, 2.2L, intercooled Turbo III Nope, its 222hp  - Jeff - 04-07-2005 woops. FWD performance owns that car. They are the #2 performance parts vendor for Chrysler 2.2L parts in the world. from allpar.com... The Turbo III is quite rare, and was used only on the Spirit R/T and Daytona R/T (except in Mexico) from 1991 to 1992 (again, except in Mexico). Generating 224 hp from 2.2 liters, this engine was quite a trip to drive, but finding parts is difficult. The heads were designed by Lotus, and use far-too-strong valve springs, making timing belt replacement a frequent necessity unless you do a very good job of fitting it. - ViPER1313 - 04-07-2005 I would have bought an R/T if I thought I had any chance of paying for it's maintaince. That car looks like it's in amazing condition though hock: . I might have had to fly down to Texas if it had been on the market last summer.Edit - FWD performance has another Spirit R/T for sale right now too - white. - Dave - 04-08-2005 damn, you are eat up with Omni fever. - ViPER1313 - 04-08-2005 Dave Wrote:damn, you are eat up with Omni fever.:?: - Dave - 04-08-2005 referring to Jeff :-) |
