I'm glad you found your car and that the person only wanted a joyride.....

How many miles did they put on the car?

not many, i had about the same amount of gas in the car so i doubt they went far with it

that's awesome Jay, glad its safe and sound again.

are you going to put a security system in it now, or say screw it and just strip it down for track duty?

sweet... i cant believe it was found not completely molested..
maybe they were like damn this has to many miles to steal the motor..

hope insurance takes care of ya

Well, I know I'm super late, but glad you found it. Great job spotting it Mike. You're so lucky that it was only jackasses that stole it and not car thieves that knew what they were doing.

They probly figured this out and just took what they could see. I'm glad to see that you still have your engine. Keep us posted on the repairs.

UPDATE: just got news from the appraiser.

Replacing the intake, upper strut, front/rear bumper cover, and all the goodies inside, i should have it back an estimated 8 days after friday, but it might take longer if they have to replace the whole steering column.

...the insurance process continues...

It's a bitch but the insurance process is slow. I've worked in a body shop for a few summers and they always try to rip you off. Remember it is legal in the state of Virginia to request ANY body shop you prefer to bring your vehicle for repairs. Also, they will try to use used components, request all new parts when you have it in the shop.
