- Dave - 12-09-2004 registered to make sure that I can play. God help me if I have to autoX the supra with the current tires. Must....get.....240.....finished! - Mike - 12-09-2004 jackstands Wrote:what kind of cars run in Street Modified? What should I inspect for the race? What kind of safety issue will disqualify me? This will be my 1st event with the my prelude and just 3rd overall. -street modified has cars with swapped motors... -inspect your brake pads, tire pressures, lugnut torques, and all fluids... -clean out everything from the car, including spare tire and floormats. ensure you seatbelt works properly, your battery is attached securely, and your seat is bolted in completely. - Andy - 12-09-2004 thanks mike. I put in new pads, as well as all new fluid everywhere. I def gotta clean out the car. I was thinking what makes and models. I was reading the classification for SM and I was a little intimidated. I swapped in a motor from same make and model, just wasn't available in my year, does that still count or can I be in another class, like SP. From the classifications, it said you can't be in SP, if you've internally modded engine. Am I reading that right? - Mike - 12-09-2004 you're in SM fo sho... i think if you swapped over everything that made a prelude vtec a prelude vtec then you could run in stock class. i don't know much about sp, but interal mods are very sm... now do you have the 4g vtec motor or the 5g? are they different? i think they are... if you have the 5g motor then you're sm without question. sm nationally is ruled by the e36 m3. you can expect to be running against swapped civics (or swapped anything, but the civics are the oens to worry about), and factory boosted cars w/ a little extra boost ![]() - Dave - 12-09-2004 I imagine Andy doesn't have to run in SM. It is a motor offered in that generation of car and I doubt his particular model offered anything to make it better than any other 4g with an H22. An interesting predicament... - .RJ - 12-09-2004 Dave Wrote:I imagine Andy doesn't have to run in SM. He does have to run in SM..... unless he swapped EVERYTHING from a vtec model to his car (brakes, hubs, sunroof, gauge cluster, seats, radio, etc, etc, etc.... ) and if its a JDM engine, SM no matter what. - Mike - 12-09-2004 Dave Wrote:I imagine Andy doesn't have to run in SM. An interesting predicament... a b16 hatch was offered in japan... doesn't mean that if i throw it in i can run stock class ![]() - Andy - 12-09-2004 I have a JDM H22A. Cool. Whatever. Should be fun, hopefully learn stuff i.e. driving. Not my strong suit. Oh, does anyone have a helmet I can borrow? - Chris - 12-09-2004 jackstands Wrote:I have a JDM H22A. Cool. Whatever. An interesting predicament... - Chris - 12-13-2004 alright its coming up soon! I'll be getting the supplies from Cobetto this week. I'll just need help with the usual- registration, drivers meeting, start/finish setup, and course setup. Jon Felton and I prob have the course setup covered, so if everyone else could help as needed we will have an awesome event. The last one still had a few glitches, and we want to really impress with this one. We've got some big autox people signed up, and MM/NASA needs to look good. If you guys could be there around 8:30-9am on Sat, that would be awesome. We should have plenty of help if you can't make it that early. Remember its at VMP in Petersburg, and drivers meeting is at 11:45 and we start at noon. MM'ers signed up/coming to help: Me Maeng Keith Chad Dave Jess John Nick Aaron Pete Andy and Jon Felton. See you all there! - Andy - 12-13-2004 When would I have to leave the Burg in order to help? Anyone in the Burg want to caravan there? - Chris - 12-13-2004 jackstands Wrote:When would I have to leave the Burg in order to help? Dave prob will caravan... 6am most likely. - Maengelito - 12-13-2004 we need to get paper work distributed and collected as soon as possible so we can have all the time sheets ready to go. we also need to go over working the course a bit better. oh yeah, and it'll be cold, bring some layers! - Chris - 12-13-2004 Maengelito Wrote:we need to get paper work distributed and collected as soon as possible so we can have all the time sheets ready to go. we also need to go over working the course a bit better. do you mean distributed earlier that morning? if so, I def. agree with you. The driver's meeting needs to focus a lot more on worker radio communication, when to and when not to run out on course, and when to red flag. we had way too much flagging last time. - getfast - 12-13-2004 Chris Wrote:and Jon Felton. Hey Chris... I'm bringing my E30 for timed runs but in the interest of fairness we will be doing the course-tweaking-pre-runs in this instead: ![]() Roadrace suspension, big b00st, and ice cold Hoosiers on a cold dirty course at 10am... should be fun ![]() PS- Hey Gerald (or whoever else is doing the pre-reg)... I have sent two pre-reg waiting list forms in for two buddies who REALLY want a spot. They are bringing a couple of 911 roadrace cars which is good eye candy for everyone. Can they pleeeeeeease have a spot? Thanks and see everybody Saturday AM- Jon - Chris - 12-15-2004 oh hell yeah... we'll finish the course early so we get some extra runs in that baby! - white_2kgt - 12-15-2004 What time do my runs start? --chad - JohnC - 12-15-2004 white_2kgt Wrote:What time do my runs start? 12:42:13 EST.
