Couldn't you use ratchet straps to belt yourself in?
DOT approved ratchet straps, of course.

Change in plans, bringing the M3 instead of the 128i, and one more person to drive it alongside me and Christina.

It's F-Prepared instead of the 128's F-Street so I guess we'll have to change that on-site. Hooray!

The M3 isn't in SM? BSP?

It might be, but a friend of mine who takes this SCCA Solo stuff as srs bzns claims it's FP... I think I'm just going to walk up to Ray on Sunday morning and ask for help with a defeated look on my face.

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - rherold9 - 10-13-2014

I think either SM or BSP. I'm not sure. But, yeah I'm sure someone more familiar will know.

Looks like I have a Chevy S-10 in my class for FSP. I have to actually try and win now Big Grin. Watch that thing just be ridiculous...

GUYS. DON'T FORGET TO COME TO THE ZIPTIE EVENT ON FRIDAY BEFORE THIS. IT'LL BE SUPER KEEN.

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - Sully - 10-13-2014

Unless rules changed which I wouldn't be surprised if they had, stripped interior is definitely street mod. I can't remember if you have your carpet and stuff or not. Back seats count too. It's why my bone stock power wise 240 was in street mod. PO removed back seat.

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - Jake - 10-14-2014

I have carpet from the front seats forward. Full dash. No backseat or headliner.

I'll tell Ray what's up and he'll help out.

OK so I did a novel thing and read the rule book. For Street Mod it says

"Except as noted by these rules and the referenced
rules, vehicles must be as originally delivered including all
road-going components such as lights, wipers, interior, heater, etc"

The only exception that applies is this one

"Rear passenger seat(s), including restraints and associated hardware
may be removed."

So if the headliner and carpets behind the front passengers are missing (I did read that somewhere, right?), then the car is not legal for Street Mod.

So what does that mean... The difference in PAX, FP vs. SM is .0.883 vs 0.870 That is 0.78 seconds on a 60 second course. The decision is whether to put that stuff back in to get the advantage of the SM index or leave them out and just drive faster Smile

Been too busy at work to read the dang PDF... so thank you Ray for helping out  Seems what you came up with (FP) is the same as my buddy did. You're correct about the carpets/rear seats/headliner so the car can't go in SM. FP it is, then, given that I don't have anything that's been taken out to be reinstalled.....

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - rherold9 - 10-14-2014

Hopefully fix my rubbing issue before this since I've lowered my car a bit more. Then I have to worry about tearing my lip off though...

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - Beej - 10-15-2014

It's a hike, but fuggit I don't think I've done a single motorsport event all year.

See y'all on Sunday!

Looks like I'll need to clear out of the house in the afternoon so Rex can finish his programming project, so Hannah and I might stop by!

You live so close, it'd be a shame if you didn't! Big Grin

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - Goodspeed - 10-16-2014

I'm on the fence about coming down to spectate now, got stuff piling up and weekend time is most precious.

Out of curiosity, is there something big going down in Hburg this coming weekend? Looks like every room in town from the Residence Inn to the trucker fleabag motels are taken :dunno:

Re: College Solo Auto-X! Oct 19th - Senor_Taylor - 10-16-2014

Beats me. No football game. Parents weekend for Bridgewater and JMU are over. Maybe some kind of Cock Fighting event?
