I left all my grip tape in the 80s... on my skateboard.

lulz.

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-22-2014

so the integra is in the garage finally. We did a little work here and there.

the super cheap header... wrapped and sealed.

Laid out some aerocatch hood pins... measure 30 times, cut once
[Image: Areocatch1_zps2786015d.jpeg]

It might seem pretty far back for you integra nerds... but that's because I'm using an extension. long story short, the deflection of the hood makes a cleaner install if they are farther back. Also the bolts for the hood pins hit the headlight housings.

you might have spied the greddy catch can. I made a stainless steel baffle for it since they come without baffles. just some mesh folded up into the container.

cutting holes... drilling holes...

Macco paint... boys and girls, don't take your cars there. they lay it on THICK
[Image: MaccopaintFTL_zpsd4f96fa0.jpg]

I'm using self etching primer under the hood. somehow i'll touch that up flake and follow on with my plans for the hood/roof/hatch.

Progress looks good! Always wanted to watch someone cut up their for a scoop or pins like that. I can only imagine how many times measurements were checked.

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-22-2014

Those aluminum brackets look pretty thin gauge on a long lever.

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-23-2014

They are doubled over. When I tug on them the core support flexes before the brackets.

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - navin - 09-23-2014

Why are you adding AeroCatches on a stock hood?

Fuck those things, I hated installing mine.

they are a pain but they look nice. and i'd rather "practice" on a stock hood then the baller hood you are going to find me on CL for cheap

Core support was never meant to flex that way Wink

Just giving you shit. If we didn't give shit on project cars, MM wouldn't be the same :

hah, just picked up a CF hood in decent condition (clearcoat peeling) for my buddies Integra for $50.

ps. DJ pays bodyshops to install his AeroCatch's Wink

and lets pray that it never flexes that way again! Smile If you guys didnt give me shit i'd worry about you all.

The next step is to strip the front bumper, front fenders, pull the rear bumper... and prep for chassis saving/rust elimination. I'll probably also just pull the hood and sand/prime it. the slippery slope kicked in with installing hood pins... its just my luck.

keep looking for one for me! I probably should pay the body shop to install this stuff and fix my rust... but i'm king of the cheap bastards so its on MY to-do list. (and on sylvias honey-do list lol)

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-24-2014

Front and rear bumper are off, side skirts are off, intake scilenser is removed, half the exhaust is removed, all the metal sealing for the Areocatch is done

I spray the suspension bolts when i start and before I pack up... Hopefully that helps later on

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-26-2014

Anyone got a rear trailing arm bushing tool? Navin?

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-26-2014

progress... and just with my luck... another step back... broken header stud, IN the head. DOH

I guess I will be pulling the radiator and all out.

Re: Project: Haters Gonna Hate (a non-ITR Derp tale) - Kaan - 09-30-2014

October 13th, 2014 - Wrench Day... its also columbus day... I work on it a little every day so who knows where i will be on that day. but i still need to:
1. seal up the rear chassis
2. repair quarter panels
3. roll fenders
4. pull coolant system/AC system and repair head stud/seal front of the chassis
5. do oil pan gasket/baffle oil pan
6. install suspension/trailing arm bushings
7. install exhaust
8. install front/rear bumpers and side skirts

If anyone from harrisonburg goes up to supervise Kaan, throw those bottlecaps in your trunk for me please.

I'd be willing to bet my brother would pick them up from Kaan sometime before he comes to visit Hannah next. If someone doesn't pick them up before then, I'll mention it.

Wish I had known. We were out there Sunday and Julianne was at JMU all day Monday. I was wondering why Kaan had bottlecaps hanging out. :dunno:
