Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-21-2011

Re: Project Hatch - kcook - 07-21-2011

Less talk, more pics in this thread. I keep coming back to this thread every time it gets bumped and I get Sad

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-21-2011

Sorry, parts are coming in but no installs have happend, step by step pics of installs will happen Smile just need to find the time.

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-22-2011

So I "worked from home today" and didn't have much to do, so I went out to the garage!

I had already mounted up the passenger seat and thanks to DJ stopping by on his way to VIR, he delivered my driver side seat bracket and side mounts....

Got the bracket down and needed to drill some holes to make my seat work, since the base bracket is driller for the sliders.

After I drilled the holes I realized something......i had drilled the holes and given myself NO adjustment ability forward or backward.

So I redrilled holes to give myself some adjustment and was able to use the predrilled back holes. Which now gives me adjustment back, but it is all the way forward.

After some adjustment....sorry shitty pic

Passenger.

Both
[Image: 2011-07-22_11-35-56_717.jpg]

Then decided to clean out the filthy ass K&N Filter...

K&N filter cleaner was applied, sat for 20 minutes, then rinsed out with running water, NOT sprayed with a hose, that will ruin the filter element.

Dried in the 1,232,482,956 degree sunlight, and the K&N oil was applied.

While I was waiting on the filter to dry, I reinstalled the factory steering wheel in order to pass inspection, and pulled out the horrible finicky alarm, still need to remove the wiring/accessories, but the brain is out.

After that the dogs started going nuts, I assumed dehydration...

NOPE! BROWN SANTA and BLUE SANTA (USPS) stopped by for a visit...

GC Coilovers.

Oil Sandwich filter, this will be used for the Oil Temp and Oil Pressure gauges senders.

Prosport Premium Water Temp Gauge, will beep/buzz/flash when temp gets to a set temperature that you setup.

Decided to mount up the temp gauge, disconnecting the factory sender and installing the gauges sender in the same hole on the block. The loose wire is a cool feature of these gauges, instead of running poer to each gauge, it allows for a daisy chain. So the Oil Temp and Oil pressure gauges will be installed next to the water temp gauges closer to the driver.

White during the day..

Amber with lights on...

That's all for the day, Tomorrow I may try and conquer the coilovers and rear sway bar/ASR brace.

Ordered some front sway bar bushings & Acura Integra front LCAs, which are needed to install the GSR Front sway im supposed to be picking up. Also ordered an Injector O ring kit for when i replace the intake manifold, exhaust wrap for the DC Header, and some sweet VHT Wrinkle red spray paint for the VC. All from Summit Racing, which was surprisingly the cheapest.

Wheels and Tires should be here Monday, Unfortunately there was a hiccup. While waiting on my Wheels to come in the tires (star specs) went on backorder til end of august. So I decided to just go with the Kumho XS, seems on lighter cars they do just as well as the star specs according to a GRM test actually using a Civic.

And last pic....

I leave you with,

The table of parts

Re: Project Hatch - WRXtranceformed - 07-22-2011

Love it dude, glad to see this car still in the MM family. I still have an awesome mental image of Maeng standing on this engine block at my first MM car show. And of course the STi intercooler sprayer / plant watering device

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-26-2011

UPS guy is gonna think im dealin.....

15x7.5 TRM C1s
205/50/15 Ecsta XS
These needed hub centric rings, which were sent, I expected some plastic ones, but they sent aluminum rings, Impressive.

TireRack disclaimer *THESE AIN'T SUPPOSED TO FIT MAN*
[Image: 2011-07-26_16-48-56_57.jpg]

Got half my order from Summit, Waiting on front LCAs and the steel zip ties for the exhaust wrap. Super fail on their part, I called to ask if the sway bar bushings came with the sway bar bracket, they said yes! But nope, just the bushings. Also I assumed the Fuel Inj O Ring kit was for all for, NOPE, was only a kit for one injector (I FAIL).

Still waiting to hear from the guy with my front sway bar, apparently he only checks his email once every 4 days. Ill try and get the car in the air now and throw the wheels on to see how they look and just to make sure they do fit! But they will if the wheel/tire calculator I used is right. they will have the same clearances as the 15x8 +36 wheels like 6ULs but only be a half inch smaller.

Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-26-2011

+1 to the double tapper... he's got a good eye

those harnesses are bad j00 j00.. dont mount them like that if you want them to help you. you'll need to drop the seat or put in a new bar. just a FYI
