Re: Re: Project Hatch - Goodspeed - 07-12-2011 JustinG Wrote:Before your time my friend.....we don't speak of "IT" anymore.... The only way you'll ever absolve yourself of the RS-T demons is to successfully force-induce another N/A motor. It can be done. Your D/B/H/K series, Mazda BP, 2JZ and countless V-8 brethren to name a few support you. Am I the only one that thinks he bought this to save money and have a reliable track/autox platform? Daily- 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport AutoX/Track Kah- 1993 Civic CX Hatch SOLD- 1999 Eclipse GSX :bootyshake: Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-12-2011 Buy now? Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-12-2011 no.....that would put me WAY over the budget I have set forth for this car. But damnit thats what CCs are for....... :? Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-12-2011 How about now? Re: Project Hatch - Mike - 07-12-2011 bill me later is no interest until february or something like that. buy buy buy. [or you could actually be smart and put the money into getting the car solid and your ass on track] Re: Project Hatch - Kaan - 07-13-2011 depending on what you want to do with the car... if you really want to TT it eventually. dont do it. you arent going to keep that B motor (probably) for TT anyway. tweek the car to your desire, get on track, start calculating points, start modding it for TT... be happy. HP isnt the end all and be all for track cars. Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-13-2011 So I think ive narrowed down spring rates..... 600F/650R, 550/600, 550/650? Seems that off the shelf Konis can handle up to 650 on the springs, so maybe the 550/600 would be best?? When I can revalve the Konis or upgrade shocks I can easily get new springs, $59 a pair for whatever rate you want direct from Eibach/GC. Have a guy selling an ITR Rear sway and GSR front sway for $125 with hardware, good deal? Or look for something different???? Re: Project Hatch - Kaan - 07-13-2011 if mikey got the car to handle without swaybars, dont bother hunting down a set without really driving it. Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-13-2011 yea probably a good call, im just worried since im running lighter springs, and im fatter than mikeys hipster/cycling ass. Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-13-2011 600 is really pushing it on those shocks. Once you revalve you could drive it on the street with stiffer springs, but its going to be a bit harsh - just depends on what you want to tolerate. I drove mine to the track for a year with springs anywhere from 800-1000 lbs and it was pretty shitty, but I had also exorcised nearly all rubber from the suspension too. Swaybars will help here, but depends on what you want the car to do. You will probably want to keep things a little on the pushy/understeer side until you get a bunch of seat time in the car, and gradually loosen it up. Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-13-2011 The ride stiffness really doesnt bother me, but your right, I need to focus on seattime and figure the car out before I go crazy rates, regardless the car is going to handle better than the pig of a DSM. So thinking more 500/550 rates? or even lower? I just cant make a decision, so someone is just going to have to decide for me. Re: Project Hatch - Kaan - 07-13-2011 mikey gave you a book that had his set ups... start there and then figure things out. dont hunt too far for springs, i might have some we can trade if you need to swap some out. Re: Project Hatch - JustinG - 07-13-2011 He was running above the limits of the shocks, 800f 700r Re: Project Hatch - .RJ - 07-13-2011 800/700 lbs or 8k/7k? |
