Re: Automotive News Discussion - Sully - 10-09-2014

Pretty sure s2k is full electric. No pump, no ps fluid whatsoever from what I understood. My car has no driver control aids so it definitely doesn't ever intervene with steering.

Kaan Wrote:electric turbo? all those ebay sellers were right (after you added some real turbos and $$$$ in R&D) lol
was it this thread that somebody quoted an audi article where they talk about the power requirements of an electric turbo and its pretty astounding. requires much higher voltage and a ton of amps to actually drive any amount of air. and even then it was just a stopgap until the real turbah kicked in.
so the little ebay 12v fans electric turbos were still bullshit Tongue

Re: Automotive News Discussion - HAULN-SS - 10-09-2014

my ATS has electric steering and I think I actually love it. It's definitely awesome at slow speeds because you can feel it take over on tight turns and give you a little tighter turning radius.

I was trying to be funny... power hungry electric fan to kick start a mechanical turbo to push another mechanical turbo... I guess they just didn't want a really tinny mechanical turbo Wink

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 11-11-2014

And I want one of these real bad. Maybe in 4 or 5 years when they get below 30k.

450hp twin turbo 3.6L V6 still offered with a 6-speed manual.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - HAULN-SS - 11-12-2014

kinda want to see the 4 door. Though, I'm not sure why, as the back seat is pretty damn small in these. Also, I hope they put the full fold down back seat in them.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - WRXtranceformed - 11-12-2014

At 4-5 years, the leather will be peeling off of the seat backs, the infotainment center will randomly stay on when the car is off, the sunroof and rear brake lights will be leaking and it will be killing coil packs faster than bugs on a summer night drive.

I used to lust over caddys until I owned one, now I'm obviously pretty jaded haha

Not so sure based on what I have read over on the Cadillac forums. But come back to me when you're at 45k-60k miles

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 11-12-2014

It can't be much worse than either of the cars we're driving. European cars aren't exactly known for their reliability.

In other unrelated news, the first customer c7 z06's came off the line yesterday so we should start seeing these beasts on the street before too long. Can't wait to see on in real life.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Evan - 11-12-2014

looks nice now, but I dont think it will age well at all. it already looks like a transformer.

the previous gen CTS coupe already looks like a ugly hotwheels car

Re: Automotive News Discussion - ScottyB - 11-12-2014

looks like its trying too hard.

anyone else think the top of the hood looks like its 4 feet off the ground from the side view? and those are probably already 19 or 20 inch wheels for scale reference. the whole thing just looks disproportionately tall to me.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Goodspeed - 11-12-2014

I could only draw how I feel that car looks:

Also applies to: Honda/Acura, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, etc.

etc.

etc.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 11-17-2014

2016 Shelby GT350 seems like its going to be an awesome car. America is putting out a lot of cool cars recently. I'm interested to hear what it sounds like with the flatplane crank.
