Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - WRXtranceformed - 10-12-2016 Was it this thread where we were talking about stupid shifters? I am really impressed with the long-overdue updates for Volvo's cars, specifically their interiors, but man this shifter definitely ranks up there on the "probably not going to be able to figure out how to put this in neutral or park in a panic situation" category: ![]() Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - Jake - 10-12-2016 I think the actual shifter is the thingy with the leather boot, higher up and barely pictured ![]() The Engine button is to start and you twist left to stop, Drive Mode is for some bullshit Eco mode I bet, and then you have the parking brake that nobody will use and the Auto-Stop that nobody will disable. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - SlimKlim - 10-12-2016 I think that's just the parking brake button, the shifter has a P on it too, it looks like it might even have physical notches and not just be a big electronic joystick like most of the new high end cars. ![]() I think the "Excellence" trim level gets this awful looking thing: ![]() But I doubt many people are going to be spending $100k for the top trim of a car that starts at $46k anyway. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - WRXtranceformed - 10-12-2016 Ah good catch! The top one seems reasonable to use, the bottom one on the other hand could get a little weird Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 10-12-2016 You peasant, that is for your driver to be concerned with Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - *insertusernamehere* - 10-13-2016 I've never lusted after an SUV so hard ever before I NEEEEEEDDDIIITTTTTT hhnngggg Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - WRXtranceformed - 10-20-2016 People who come to work really sick, to a not mandatory development program where we have to be stuck in a room together for 8 hours. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - .RJ - 10-20-2016 damn kids that dont know how awesome the integra type-r is Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - ScottyB - 10-20-2016 the "i can't handle being passed" people. this happens all the time in my subaru, usually when i'm passing someone in a big truck or SUV. i usually do 10 over, and i'll come up on some meathead, obliviously cruising along, and when i pass them some switch goes off in their head that i'm disrespecting their authoritay or something. if i'm passing them on the right its even worse. just yesterday, on my local 4-lane doing 65 in a 55 and went to pass a guy doing 60 in a new tundra, just sitting there in the left lane. i jump over to the right lane, glide past his door, then i hear him drop a gear and immediately catch up to hold even. i legitimately had to get over (right lane becomes a turn-only) so i speed up more - he matches - and finally call it quits when we get to 70. i slow back down and get behind him, guy pulls ahead and then slows right back down to 60 again. can't wait until i can buy some land in the mountains and stop ever having to deal with these clowns. They replaced the entire concrete block, here, ![]() with one that is on 24x7 and lights up the rooms in my house even with the shades down and curtains closed. I'll have to get a photo of it in real life. It's tacky as hell. Rex, talk to your people, pls. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 10-20-2016 Dave I would at least try to lodge a complaint. Maybe they can turn down the brightness (is that even how that works?)? Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - davej - 10-20-2016 Yeah, I threw an email into the marketing dept, figured it was as good of a place to start with as any. I'll see if I can't track down someone that has a say about it. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - JPolen01 - 10-20-2016 Maybe facilities management? It is even worse when driving *Redacted*. Absolutely everyone on the planet will not allow being passed by a *Redacted*. Only problem is when they accelerate you just have to give up and fall back in line. Its ineveitable that it happens in some scenario where there is a turn or lane merge you need to make a mile down the road Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - CaptainHenreh - 10-21-2016 JustinG Wrote:ScottyB Wrote:can't wait until i can buy some land in the mountains and stop ever having to deal with these clowns. OH THE MISERY. When you drive a [redacted] people drive AT you. I do not understand the unbridled hatred of people on the road at [redacted]. I do 80 on the reg in my [redacted]. As far as cops go it might as well have a cloaking device because no cop looks twice at a [redacted]. But god DAMN if every chucklefuck in a dodge ram just can't handle the insult to his penis at having a [redacted] pass him while he was doing under the speed limit in the left hand lane. OH, BUT OH, OH GOD FOR FUCKING BID I DO ANYTHING LESS THAN 80 IN THE LEFT LANE for so help them Marduk they're gonna pass the fuck out of me doing 100 if they gotta. Scotty unless you're gonna move to the fucking MOON you're gonna find these dickshitters everywhere. Fuck, I bet you'd find some little green moonmountain hillbillies lollygagging in the left hand moonlane in their old ass rover getting all shitty with you when you tried to pass. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - BLINGMW - 10-21-2016 FWIW it's really really rare I see this behavior around Roanoke. But I'm either driving a logo'd up van, or the oldest Miata available, so I guess people don't feel threatened. :dunno: What's with all this redacted shit. That's about to grind my gears. ![]() Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - RawrImAMonster - 10-21-2016 They know they made bad choices in cars. Re: You know what really grinds my gears?! - CaptainHenreh - 10-21-2016 BLINGMW Wrote:What's with all this redacted shit.
