So, if you upgrade your exhaust, I wonder how weird it would sound with the Active Noise Bullshittery.

Keep in mind that the Charger was on drag radials, not production tires.

Re: The Hellcat. Comments on any post about it are always "OMG COOLEST THING EVER I NEED ONE NOW!?!?!!!!!11" For example, a guy on the Jalopnik article says he needs to go sell his C63 AMG now. Have none of these people ever driven a Charger? I don't care how much power you give it, it's still a steaming pile of turd. I'd imagine the novelty of knowing YOU'VE GOT GOBS OF POWER would wear off pretty fast and you'd want to be back in that C63 AMG with the quickness.

I know, I know, very few readers of Jalopnik will actually be buying this car. Someone who looks as deep as power alone typically doesn't have $70k to shell out for a car. Thank God.

Go pet your Audi's dashboard or measure its panel gaps while sipping on that organic wine you just picked up and instagramed to all your friends, but leave the hellcat alone. It's badass, end of discussion.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 10-01-2014

I was starting to think i was the only one. I think everyone is excited because you can get that much power under warranty. No matter how shitty it is, there will still be a ton sold because tons of barely-car dudes in their 50s who just care about impressing the 20-somethings he sees jogging every day in his neighborhood will buy one.

Let's talk about how insane the Z06 is. I wonder how much they can push out of it with the ZR1 in a few years?

More faster, topless version in case the Elio is too boring for you:

$20K, 1700lbs, 173HP Ford ecotec, I bet it's pretty fun. I wonder if it'd make a good track car? :dunno:

Re: Automotive News Discussion - RawrImAMonster - 10-07-2014

450hp out of a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder from the factory is a pretty impressive number. Granted, it has two normal turbos and third electric one, but still that's more power than most stock turbo modded Evo's make from a completely stock Volvo.

now if i could get that in a Polestar trim c30 for ~$30k I'd be happy.

or a 740 wagon.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Kaan - 10-09-2014

electric turbo? all those ebay sellers were right (after you added some real turbos and $$$$ in R&D) lol

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Senor_Taylor - 10-09-2014

Electric turbos? What is the world coming to? Soon we'll have electric steering, electric radiator fans, and even electric windows! MADNESS, I SAY.

All things which god clearly intended to be pneumatic

Re: Automotive News Discussion - Sully - 10-09-2014

I love electric steering. Mainly because I've had the worst luck with power steering systems and have blown out the pump or have had leaks in every system I've owned. Except for the s2k, you know, because electric

Sully Wrote:I love electric steering. Mainly because I've had the worst luck with power steering systems and have blown out the pump or have had leaks in every system I've owned. Except for the s2k, you know, because electric

I've heard that the S2K electric steering system is one of the best. Most electric steering systems suck.

Re: Automotive News Discussion - SlimKlim - 10-09-2014

I guess Channing thinks everything has been downhill since the Merc 600 Grossman.

I had no idea the S2k had electric steering, are you sure it wasn't electrically-assisted? I think my vw still has a steering pump but there is an electric assist that makes it lighter/faster at low speeds, and it has a bizarre feature where it "nudges" the wheel in the direction the stability control system thinks you should go.

I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't making shit up:

"Put simply, sensors relating to the ESP sense when the car is going into a skid, and the steering electronic control unit (ECU) automatically provides a prompt to the driver to correct the car trajectory by giving the steering wheel a quick 'nudge'. Recognising that most drivers find the idea of a car steering itself a little troubling, VW Group is quick to stress that the robotic nudge is merely a 'suggestion', which the driver is free to override at any time."

New cars are weird
