Need to obtain video from friend of ol Jeep which had no problemo fording a 2.5' deep stream on Friday...... we're talking water splashing over the hood deep... Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Kaan - 10-16-2011 I'm just saying XJ > BMW for this event ![]() I bought a snatch strap just for you and rousch creek
Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Sully - 10-16-2011 I've taken the M through a 4" deep stream and straddle some ruts and what not. Sad part is I'm not joking ad:
Re: Off road adventure anyone? - V1GiLaNtE - 10-16-2011 ^ hmmm.. wrong use of quotes to designate length on my behalf.. 2 and half feet deep... not 4 inches.. Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Sully - 10-16-2011 ^ Mine's an M3 though so 4" is pretty extreme and it was really like 6"-7" Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Cody - 10-16-2011 How "INTENSE" of a trail are you all looking for? Should we try to find a spot with multiple options or go for the easy button trail near Crab Tree Falls (awesome camping spot)? Re: Off road adventure anyone? - V1GiLaNtE - 10-16-2011 The Latter.. Ever been at a track day and have something break?? Same concept on the trail except there are not 2-3 people around you with the same car and potential replacement part.. Re: Off road adventure anyone? - V1GiLaNtE - 10-16-2011 Sully Wrote:^ Mine's an M3 though so 4" is pretty extreme and it was really like 6"-7" Oh no doubt.. I hit that trail at the lake on 33W on Friday.. Everything was sopping wet so it was fun crawling around the different trails and the 4 creek crossings.. Creek crossings are so cool... Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Sully - 10-17-2011 If that's the one at the top of 33 that starts as Pavement but ends within like 20 yards, then that is where I took the M. I though it would be a cool twisty paved backroad. It wasn't

X2, nothing like being stuck 10 miles in the middle of the woods and scrambling for help.......at least a tow can get to you! Worst nightmare= grenading the front dana 30 and having to leave the heep there stranded for two days

I took my Escape down there freshman year but didn't go very far. I remember stopping next to a little river thing. Not sure how far the trail goes or if you can camp there or what the deal is. Kaan Wrote:Jake Wrote:Sweet. Bet I can get a lift kit on the BMW by then.We will scratch cabells name off the snatch strap and put your on it Hey man, I have an LSD. I can scramble my way out of anything with that. Unless it's snowing or deep ruts or slightly damp or... well okay, maybe I'll just come catch a ride. I've taken it pretty far in- well in to West VA with a jeep club, total of about 4 hours in- 4 hours to drive out, pretty cool trail! Some tricky spots for sure, but there are always by-passes that a stocker can make it around no problem Re: Off road adventure anyone? - HAULN-SS - 10-18-2011 I've camped there. It goes a decent bit past the creek, and then there are those digouts to stop you from going any further. There's a little short trail that branches off to the left, and you can came in that area. Re: Off road adventure anyone? - Cody - 01-09-2012 Soooo, when in the spring works out for you folks? I was thinking late march (haven't looked at the race schedule yet). We'll have everything planned out this week. I also extended an invite to the UVA kids cause I know a couple of them are into it. Re: Off road adventure anyone? - premiershine9 - 01-15-2012 Late march would be cool- gotta see what we're going to trek on- wrangler is being sold and I just bought my dads 09 Grand Cherokee Laredo off of him- might have to test it out or ride with someone else One vote for late March |
