Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-24-2012

Think I just bought a 99 F250 this morning...waiting to make sure the other guy confirms he accepted my offer. 150k miles, 7.3L, supecab, XLT, single rear wheel, 4wd

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-24-2012

Actually just confirmed the deal.

$7500 out the door with the toolbox. It needs a little TLC, sticker remover, and maybe a detail job by that premiershine guy. Pretty damn good deal for only 150k miles and was never used as a real work truck.

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - JPolen01 - 01-24-2012

Nice find!

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - D_Eclipse9916 - 01-24-2012

Nice find, thats exactly what I would be looking for except in dually if I decide to move to an enclosed. Good deal on the price too!

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-24-2012

Thanks - makes me real glad I didnt pounce earlier on some of the other trucks I was finding that were in worse shape for more money! That one I looked at in MD was a total rust case up underneath

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-24-2012

Here's a question: I live in WV, and I need to drive this truck through VA and to my house in WV. Can I get temporary trip permits for that? I found a thing on virginia DMV, but it requires you be a VA resident, and the to/from is in VA. How do you transfer a car bought in another state?

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - CaptainHenreh - 01-24-2012

Get your WV trip permit and just drive. VA should honor it.

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - Dave - 01-24-2012

Nice find. Sounds pretty much identical to my 2000, except a hell of a lot better deal than mine 4 years ago. That truck should last you a loooong looooong time if it's been cared for.

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-25-2012

Yeah - I think it has been. Since it was a company truck, they actually have the maintenance records, and the mileage records for everything. it was basically used on trips to NC and PA

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - Jeff - 01-25-2012

That is a good price. Cummins in that kind of shape would have cost you $10 on a good day.

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-25-2012

Yeah - if it hadnt taken so long to find a decent truck at a good price, id have half a mind to flip it. I had made a post on CL for the truck as described for $11k just to get a feel for if it'd get any bites, and give myself an idea of the value, and I had a few people emailing me about it. I think I will keep it though - maybe I can use it for a few years and sell it for what I have in it, assuming nothing major blows up.

Re: WTB: Diesel truck - HAULN-SS - 01-28-2012

Got'r home..17.2mpg on the way home. Seems a slight bit low, but that was at 75mph all the way, and on winter fuel, and the truck needs an alignment. Wouldnt doubt if I could get 19 on ideal conditions

I'll be very interested to hear if you can ever beat that without getting a tuner. I don't know that I've ever seen 17, and definitely haven't seen it consistently. In my experience, you're really not going to see a lot of variability in your fuel economy.
