Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-28-2010 xvxax Wrote:Why would m3 brakes move me if I get classed in D as an m3? I do not think I will run r-comps for this event because I will be at a wedding the night before and I do not want my Gucci suit to smell like tires. The swap is for your motor, not for the entire car. Youd have to ask Felton or another Greg Greenbaum for the official classifier. I dont think its a big deal to run in C because "officially" I think your in B or C. Crunch the numbers with your base class as the 325i with all the mods aside from the swap (and yes include anything that wasnt a bare 325i car (like my stupid m3 spoiler apparently was not on a base m3 even tho it came from the factory so I had to take points for it in Time Trials, thats why I went PTG wing) Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - getfast - 09-28-2010 X-brace on an E36 is 3 points, see http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/nasa-x_classes.pdf section 1.3.D, line 30. That's also where the details are about engine-swapped, forced-induction-added, or similarly modified cars, in section 1.5 at that link. I'd need dyno sheet and comp weight with driver (or Greg Greenbaum would) to establish a base class IN ADVANCE, otherwise any car that doesn't take straight points for all its mods would run in NXR. Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - xvxax - 09-28-2010 My swap is a m3 motor out of a 1995. Same chassis swap so according to 1.3 I go to xd then assess points from there. Is that right? Otherwise I will go to xr. Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - getfast - 09-28-2010 Regionally we'd probably let you call it a '95 M3 for base classing purposes, and take points for mods from there, for one event anyway... Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - Sully - 09-28-2010 Oh shit, I might be in the wrong class by one point even though i think off more points than I needed for weight reduction so I might be alright. Didn't see the plus 14 point ** thing at first Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - f2399CL - 09-29-2010 Registered. I'll be heading down later saturday night tho, I have to be at the football game. Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - f2399CL - 09-29-2010 scratch that, ill be there sunday morning. Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - getfast - 09-30-2010 Pre-reg is now full and closed. Huge thanks to Ptuning for sponsoring this event, and to everyone who signed up early! Thanks again and we'll see ya at VMP on the 24th! Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - Sully - 09-30-2010 Hey Jon, anyway I can change my number to 367. Just found out that is what I will be running as at a later date and it would be nice to only have one set of numbers? Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - getfast - 09-30-2010 Sure, please email that request to me jon (at) get-fast (dot) net and I'll handle it in the morning... Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - Goodspeed - 10-16-2010 Well, shit. My radiator is toast. While changing the oil today I noticed the (brown) plastic tank is weeping coolant and discharging crud into the system worse than I thought - I hoped to get this auto-x out of it and change it before Summit, and I don't have the $ right now to throw in an aluminum unit in time. Any co-drives?
Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - kcook - 10-16-2010 you can co drive mine goody. I know you'll be good to her

Never understood why some groups have the rule but I'll accept it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Re: NASA-X Autocross October 24th - getfast - 10-19-2010 The ability to take passengers is a privilege not a right, and one that has been greatly abused at NASA-X events over the years. There's a long list of reasons... clogs up registration since we need to have emergency contact info on anyone getting in a car, causes loaner helmets to disappear when they are intended for drivers only, clogs up grid and has caused many delays at the start line over the years, can turn timed runs into "hey look what I can do" jackassery sessions, has produced puddles of vomit near the timing table, etc. It is essential that this particular event runs smoothly due to high car counts and limited timeframe, so we're doing anything and everything we can to reduce delays/complications. That said, IF things are going smoothly and IF a few non-novice autoXers wanted to take ONE passenger out for ONE run toward the end of their heat, it would probably be ok. To be discussed further at the drivers meeting. Also anyone interested in being considered a NASA autoX instructor - i.e. someone who can always take passengers and always go for rides - should please submit their driving resume to me privately. |
