I don't care who makes it. Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - JustinG - 06-03-2010 Go drive in a straightline somewhere..... Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - .RJ - 06-03-2010 your mom drives in a straight line Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - Dave - 06-03-2010 +1 on the wagons are awesome crew. There's some out there that say you gave up on life (like the Taurus), but there's others (E46, E39, WRX, A4, Legacy GT) that say "I wanted a badass car with the practicality to take all my friends and their shit to the mountain cabin and have fun in the twisties getting there." Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - ViPER1313 - 06-03-2010 My friend Brian has a blue 200X Jetta 2.0 w/ 5-speed and about 90k miles IIRC that I am pretty he would sell you.... if he ever gets it running. I was always wondering why the inside of it smelled like crayons - now I know. It has been the largest pile of shit that a car could ever be. Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - goodWIN - 06-04-2010 1.those wagons don't do anything for me. 2. vanilla frosty's...they are horrible. end of discussion. 3. I am not buying that kid's car if it's a piece! Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - goodWIN - 06-07-2010 QUESTION!! Does anyone know how to get a FREE carfax?? I tried calling a few dealers and begged them to run one for me...perhaps I have to play "potential customer" and go there and act interested and then have them run a carfax for me... ![]() anyway...any other ideas? Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - Jake - 06-07-2010 You generally can't get them fo' free unless the car is listed on eBay. BUT! If you PM Ryan or Jeff on here and say some nice things that may resemble a VIN and the word please, plus an email address, they can generally help you out. Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - Jeff - 06-08-2010 Carfax always costs money unless you buy a bulk plan that allows you to run as many as you want. Those plans are usually hundreds a month. We pay by the carfax and its something like $15 a shot. The "ask for a free history report" is a d-bag move by carfax to screw dealers into paying them and giving away carfaxes on the used cars they have for sale. Re: WTB-VW jetta, manual - Jake - 06-08-2010 Jeff Wrote:We pay by the carfax and its something like $15 a shot Sounds like the same rate as their regular consumer pricing. I know it's also possible (at least with AutoCheck, not sure about Carfax) to pay something like $25 and you get unlimited reports for 15 or 30 days. I did that with the Miata purchase and it was worth being able to run the VINs of all the cars I was considering. Something else to consider...
