Mr. Shelby and Mr. Callaway have a lot in common. Callaway does require you to be a registered owner to purchase replacement parts but no returning of old parts. Beyond that, it's up to the owners to maitain the exclusivity.

Told caseys dad about this. He works for ford as abodyshop manager. Customer with a regular shelby gt500 wanted some additional emblems to put up in his garage or what ever. Shelby said no and hed have to need them as a replacement and return the broken ones.

Some more interesting developments...

http://www.leftlanenews.com/ford-coyote-v8.html

Quote:Our spy photographers have just snapped pictures of a pack of ÔÇ£CoyoteÔÇØ-powered F-150 pickups out running with FordÔÇÖs new 4-valve 5.0-liter V-8 engine, including the first photo you see here of the Coyote in an F-150 engine bay.

In January, we first told you about FordÔÇÖs plans to phase out the current 4.6-liter and 5.4-liter eight cylinder engines and replace them with the Coyote V-8 in 2010. The engine will be shared with the Mustang and is expected to produce approximately 400 horsepower and 400 pounds-feet of torque. We also showed you the first pictures of the new Coyote V-8 cradled under the open hood of a Mustang test car. Interestingly, the Mustang engine we spied earlier appeared to have an aluminum intake manifold while the 5.0-liter V-8 in the F-150 appears to have a composite intake manifold.
Ford is testing the engine in every trim level of F-150, plus one very interesting test truck with 7-lug wheels ÔÇô an indication the 5.0-liter V-8 might power a heavy duty payload package version of the half-ton.
Unlike the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 thatÔÇÖs scheduled to arrive in late 2010 for the F-150, the 5.0-liter Coyote V-8 wonÔÇÖt use direct injection or turbocharging. ItÔÇÖs a naturally aspirated motor with fuel economy thatÔÇÖs expected to be comparable to the current 5.4-liter V-8. ItÔÇÖs also expected to use a cast aluminum engine block instead of iron, to help save weight.
Interestingly, the 5.0-liter V-8 is said to produce power levels that are in the same neighborhood as the larger 6.2-liter V-8 that arrives in the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor in February, and the 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine.

Of course, our sources tell us that Ford is already working on a version of the Coyote V-8 that will separate itself from the rest of the future V-8 engine lineup. In cartoons, the Coyote is only beat by a Road Runner. Look for a twin-turbo 5.0-liter ÔÇ£Road RunnerÔÇØ V-8 to debut first in the Mustang GT500 by 2013 and possibly, in F-150 Harley-Davidson edition pickups.

I am impressed. American car companies are really stepping up to the bat with new models (and dont blame the bailouts, im sure these models were being "envisioned" and created WAYYYY before their financial crisis for them to come out now).

GMC's Sierra is gorgeous, nice on the inside, and ridesa million times better than the equivalent tundra which the tundra rode like shit on the road. (test-drove both). The new mustang is gorgeous and they are going in the right direction by making it lighter, handle better, and now the v6 puts up good enough numbers to have fun, get 30mpg in an automatic!!! Taurus is also actually nice I will admit. I would honestly say there isnt a brand new toyota or honda even close to being on a list of acceptable new cars to buy. If they keep this rolling instead of relying on one hit wonders (a la 300C) then I would say Honda and Toyota are in some serious shit until they get their acts togther. Toyota is struggling in reliability of their new cars, and ford has taken a good chunk of market share back despite all the "hate" of the domestic manufacturers during the bailouts when ford didnt even take money.

Thats awesome that Ford finally put some sack into the V6...but I have to wonder how long until I see a sorority girl in a beat to hell one with a slanted dual exhaust and a Hawaiian lei hanging from the rear view

Yes, and '05-'09 GT's only make 300. How times have changed in a little over 10 years that now a base model V6 puts out the same power as a '96-'98 Cobra!

Wait till they bring out the new 5.0.....

I really didn't like the 2010 at first, but it is growing on me. I still prefer the Camaro though Big Grin :mullet:
