- Sijray21 - 05-07-2009 what kind of lens are you using? great pics! very jealous! :-P - .RJ - 05-07-2009 Canon 40D + Sigma 10-22, Canon 24-105 (rental) and Canon 70-200 (also rental) Most of the shots are with the 10-22 though. Its a really sweet lens for the $$. - Apoc - 05-07-2009 I'm surprised the 10-22 has that much of a fisheye effect. Are most of those shots at 10mm? - .RJ - 05-07-2009 Yeah, quite a few at 10mm. The distortion is the worst looking up or down. - .RJ - 05-08-2009 This trip has been fucking planes, trains and automotbiles (and busses). Anyways, Monza pics, day 1. I wasnt happy with what I shot today (very few keepers) but my head wasnt in the game. Going to rest up, try a different spot tomorrow and spend most of the afternoon in the pits since the gear I have on me works better there and I just enjoy pit pics a lot more than bike pics. You can take some great shots here but I just dont have the lenses for it (400+ mm). Saw several photogs with 600mm glass, and one with 400mm + a 2.0 extender. - Mike - 05-08-2009 i think you'd do much better with a nicer camera. - .RJ - 05-08-2009 camera aint the problem... operator error mostly. - ScottyB - 05-08-2009 3rd pic down is awesome....love the visor reflection, that really jumps out. - Maengelito - 05-08-2009 .RJ Wrote:camera aint the problem... operator error mostly. so I'm not exactly a photog by any means but I don't see anything wrong with your pics. I'm pretty impressed by all of them - .RJ - 05-08-2009 Well, without getting too much into it... a lot of stuff was out of focus or I didnt get the motion panning right so very few keepers out of the bunch. Only shot from one spot (no bikes on track until almost 1). And I just wasnt on the ball, and I want the pics to be more... "monza" if that makes sense. Try again tomorrow. I've got some other spots to try and I'll be in the pits for the afternoon sessions - lots of activity there during qualifying. - Mike - 05-08-2009 .RJ Wrote:camera aint the problem... operator error mostly. no, really, you should spend more money. - .RJ - 05-08-2009 Duh. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1 ... _2_8L.html - Mike - 05-08-2009 you're worth it. - Apoc - 05-08-2009 .RJ Wrote:Duh. Imagine carrying that bitch onto a plane. At least you got the WB right in this set. (You know it's impossible for me to compliment you without some backhanded bitch slap.) - .RJ - 05-09-2009 All Monza pics that I've processed so far are here: http://boostrot.net/gallery/v/ryan/Europe2009/Monza/ The highlights: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
- ScottyB - 05-09-2009 can you explain what's going on with the middle guy's front wheel in the 4th one up from the bottom? its pointed a bit funny... - CaptainHenreh - 05-09-2009 ScottyB Wrote:can you explain what's going on with the middle guy's front wheel in the 4th one up from the bottom? its pointed a bit funny... I'm pertty sure he's turning, and the wheel is countersteering. It's counterintuitive, but "push left, lean left, go left." The quickest way to get the bike leaning is to countersteer. - ScottyB - 05-09-2009 CaptainHenreh Wrote:It's counterintuitive, but "push left, lean left, go left."
