I should've told you that I would driving Shenandoah this weekend. Anytime that happens, there's a 70% chance of rain all weekend and guaranteed 100% chance that it will rain at least one day. It didnt rain that grocery bag weekend. But yeah, please dont rain this weekend* *unless its at vixens - PDenbigh - 05-17-2008 Game on! Doesn't look like many (if any) others are going to be doing some painting, so I'm converting my garage into a paint booth. I'll be sanding for at least half the day (Starting around 7am after some breakfast!) and then I'll be painting. Looks like G and RJ are going to help destroy things so it should be a good time. I live at 2413 Avonlea Ln. Go out reserviour st, make a left onto stonewall drive, and then a right into the "Gables". I'll be the only townhome that's painting a car in his garage. All are welcome! Peter - Gs dewd - 05-17-2008 What time do you want us to show up? - Dave - 05-17-2008 knowing Pete, hes probably already been in the garage a couple hours by now working on it, so I imagine you can show up anytime to help. - .RJ - 05-18-2008 Long day saturday, but the car looks great! - Evan - 05-18-2008 damn - white_2kgt - 05-18-2008 nice man! - Dave - 05-18-2008 wow, what a tease! Show us more! - .RJ - 05-18-2008 - PDenbigh - 05-19-2008 I can't thank the guys that helped out enough. John (gsdewd) showed up not knowing any of us, and proceeded to be the key ingredient to making this project a success. I can't thank him enough! Give this guy some respect, he's top notch. RJ and G were also a big part of this with more sanding and plastic hanging than any of us care to repeat, ever. What started as an afternoon project ended as much more. I started final prep on the car at 5:30 Saturday morning and we were not finished painting until around 8:30 that night (before clean-up), and that was without any primer or paint on the parts that were off the car. Sunday I finished all of the accessories and they dried for most of the day. Tonight I'll get them put on the car and I'll take some pictures and post them here. Overall I'm happy with the result. Black shows every imperfection and since I am not clear coating it there is some minor yet permanent orange peal in places. From the start I knew I was not after an expensive paint job though. Total investment including supplies is around $350. The biggest lesson learned is that to do it right one needs a paint booth. The garage worked "OK" but it was cramped, cold, and too stagnant. I needed a larger space with heaters and some good downdraft. I'll post some pics ASAP! Thanks again for the help guys! - Jeff - 05-19-2008 If you ever need to do any more paint work on your racecar  you can use our booth in woodstock. Its an older up-draft but it helps alot. The car looks really good! I can't wait to see it in person. - PDenbigh - 05-19-2008 Oh NOW he offers :-). J/K, thanks Jeff! - Jeff - 05-19-2008 I thought it was a standing offer from the start of this thread? woops, I just could have swore I told you you could come down. - Andy - 05-19-2008 The car looks really shiny. Good work, guys. - Mike - 05-19-2008  - Chris - 05-19-2008 nice Pete!!! - Sijray21 - 05-19-2008 looks good from the one picture so far! definitely in for more pics :-D great job though  - PDenbigh - 05-19-2008 Tonight I put all the parts together. I never thought it'd be at this point. All I want to do is look at it. I am in love with the car again! I ran out of daylight but hopefully this will give you an idea of how it looks. If these are too big, check out my website for the resized versions: Edit - the pics are way too big. Just go to my website and check it out.
