The reimbursement works the same for SCCA events. Its not a NASA thing...

Uh, no...and also no.

If you're working, you can get "the hook up". Otherwise, you PAY for Hyperfest. Nasa members are not exempt from this. (Because Summit Point charges to get in the door, not NASA)

In fact, the reimbursement for crew is a big fat pain in the ass *every year*.

Umm ive never had a problem, maybe they just "forgot" me.

If you're working the event, and your name gets put on a list you get free admission. If you're working the event and your name doesn't get put on a list you pay and get reimbursed. If you're crew you pay at the gate and get reimbursed. If you're a VIP or you get hooked up, but you aren't on the list you get reimbursed.

That's my understanding at least.

Stinger race is going to be good!

That's exactly how it works. I've been Laura's worker bee for several years now. And we go through this every year. Summit Point charges, not NASA. They don't care who you are, you pay to get in.

Thanks for the confirmation Julie. I wasn't 100% sure, I've never paid to get in cause I'm always there on Friday helping to set up.

so if we get to summit friday night , can we get a wrist band and then get in free like VIR?

since im tracking my car , do i have to pay at the gate? if i do , do i get reinbursed?

Well, for regular events, it isn't like this. You can pretty much just walk up and they don't care. But hyperfizzy is special.

You will get sent all the information from Laura. She sends packets to everyone that is driving I believe. I know all of us workers get big packets for this event. I think if you are driving you don't have to pay, but you have to have proof that you are driving. That is in the paperwork she sends you. And do yourself a favor and make sure you read it.

Regardless of the day you arrive you will have to pay unless you're on the worker list to get in free, or have a pass that should be mailed to you if you've registered for the event.

It's a fun event people, stop worrying about getting a "hook up" fork over a little dough, and enjoy yourselves.

does laura send this packet in the mail or do we read a bunch of sheets online in our email? my last nasa event i wasnt sent a packet, so im assuming that they do this only for hyperfest

- Andy - 05-08-2008

Apparently there are big packets but I've never received one as a work, driver nor instructor. I always thought it was white whale situation-spoken of but never seen.

Only for Hyperfest, because its the only spectator event we do, so there are a lot of different things you need. Paddock stickers and such. She'll probably email a lot of stuff to you as well. Like I said, there is a lot of information that needs to be given to everyone.

Ive been to hyperfest 4 (maybe 3?) years in a row, I only remember paying once, and that was me just spectating the first year. Maybe I forgot, or they forgot or something but I dont remember the other 3 years paying. Last year could have been different as I did help work friday.

- Kaan - 05-08-2008

haha... i was cleaning up a bit and found a mint condition Hizzyfest #1 (at summit point) shirt!

- Mike - 05-08-2008

ebay, son!

- Kaan - 05-08-2008

Mikey... i have your JDM race team trucker hat still! if you come over on saturday remind me... i might forget due to alcohol.

- Mike - 05-08-2008

i'll forget too.

- LorenaBeana - 06-02-2008

Working or spectating, whichever is needed. Plus one guest, who will either work or spectate as well!

- Chris - 06-03-2008

I just booked a room for my brother and I at the Shoney's for this... and would be willing to split some of the cost with anyone if interested.
