I have this documented with measurements. I called Meineke back demanding a full refund of my inspection and my oil change I got done there, because obviously they did a shoddy job on both and the manager was being extremely rude to me. I don't know what he's fighting for anymore because I've already proven to him that he was trying to scam me. I called the state trooper and we are going to stop by the shop tomorrow. I'll let you guys know how it goes - CaptainHenreh - 03-18-2008 *arsenio hall whooop-whooop-whooop* - Jeff - 03-20-2008 OMG! what happens next!?! - Mike - 03-20-2008 tomorrow was yesterday. i expected up-to-the-minute updates! - WRXtranceformed - 03-20-2008 This thread seriously fails to deliver. Mikey over here is getting blue balls... UPDATE?!? - Mike - 03-20-2008 the balls have already popped. - ziich - 03-20-2008 She told me that she went with the trooper. They measured the pads on the spot and sure enough, they were over double the legal limit. The trooper writes the shop up (first offense). The shop owner accuses her of making a scene, offers her nothing, and tells her to get off his property. - WRXtranceformed - 03-20-2008 Can someone please post up the best OWNED picture you can find?!? I've got a few but I don't feel like browsing through them at work  Good job btw babe!! Way to stick it to them, I'm glad you went through with it. Hopefully that will slow them down from trying to do that to more people in the future. Who knows how many people they've scammed already :x - Dave - 03-20-2008 AWESOME!! - Mike - 03-20-2008 that is totally kickass. - ScottyB - 03-20-2008 righteous! Don't Go to Meineke. - cafleen - 03-21-2008 The owner of Meineke on South Main St, Stan, after rejecting my car for brake pads that didn't need to be replaced, refused my offer to look at my car again to double check and pass my car. He told me that if I wanted to, I could take my car to another mechanic and if he passed my car, he would give me a refund. He also offered up the idea of calling in a state trooper. So I did both. My car got passed at Shenandoah Automotive, and the state trooper and I went to Meineke on Wednesday. Sure enough, my brake pads were twice as much as the minimum requirement. The state trooper wrote him up (this was his first offense, surprisingly) and then I talked to the owner to get my refund. At this point, the state trooper was outside in his car so it was just me, my friend peter, and Stan. He accused me of "making a scene" last time I came in and left a message with another employee (I definitely did not make a scene), and he told me to get off his property and not come back. He also said if I ever wanted to talk to him again I would have to write him. I understand he was very defensive at the time, but honestly there was no reason for him to talk to me so disrespectfully and I feel really strongly about bringing this guy down. From talking to other students and a former employee, I understand that they are really shady and I wasn't the only one they tried to screw over. Ideas of what to do now? - JustinG - 03-21-2008 yea ive had one run in with them, they aligned my car and then when they drove it to check it i heard him gun the shit out of it, never goin back there again. Should have said something, but there was no way for me to prove what the guy did. I say if you can organize enough people, since this guy was a dick, write a letter to Meineke with everyones signatures and get a report from that trooper saying he was written up. Dunno where else you could go with it, other than warning friends not to go there. Re: Don't Go to Meineke. - CaptainHenreh - 03-21-2008 cafleen Wrote:Ideas of what to do now? Yeah! Tell your cool story and then let it go.
