I want to put a few of those LED's under the gas tank and seat to light up my shizzle when I'm hard parking.

I'm only half kidding... I wont do it, but I think it would look cool Wink

It lives!

- CaptainHenreh - 04-20-2008

*claps!*

Hooray!

- Ginger - 04-20-2008

Yay!

- .RJ - 04-20-2008

Thanks Smile

Still have lots to do, including figure out why the clutch doesnt fully disengage.

- Ginger - 04-20-2008

Correct cable? Binding? Correct cable slack?

- .RJ - 04-20-2008

Yep, nope, adjusted according to the shop manual, it 'feels' like it operates properly.

I havent ridden it, so I'm going to hope they're just sticky from sitting in a junkyard for a long time.

I could take the clutch plates out and soak them but... I'm lazy.

- .RJ - 04-20-2008

I had to replace the exhaust gaskets and the clutch seems to be freeing up... carbs are sync'ed...

this week:

- Finish front brake line, fill/bleed front brake
- Wire in new voltage regulator - 'old' stuff in there now and functioning, so I know the alternator is working
- Figure something out for the rear brake
- Valve adjustment, top end is a bit noisy
- Seems to be running a bit rich, I'll need to ride it to be sure but I've got a few jet sizes
- Find a CB400F tank (the one in the pics goes on Phils bike) and have it welded
- Paint
- Ride

That sounds great!!!

Awesome progress man, congrats!

- .RJ - 04-21-2008

- CB400 tank picked up
- Voltage Regulator hooked up

Valve Adjustment - I <3 pimpy tools

The PO must have adjusted the valves while the motor was hot - no wonder it ran like poo when it was cold.

Cleaning up the carbs that came with the bike so they can go on ebay - "exploded view"

did you just cut that corner out, turn it upside down, and weld it back in?

- .RJ - 04-30-2008

HAULN-SS Wrote:did you just cut that corner out, turn it upside down, and weld it back in?

Basically, with some plates put in on the side.

- .RJ - 05-24-2008

750 has front brakes now - yay! Another master cylinder fixed it up.

I rode it around the neighborhood Smile

Things I still need to do... fit a throttle return spring on the carbs, have the tank lined (it leaks a little where the welding was done) and then get the tank/headlight/front fender painted.

- Ginger - 05-25-2008

Talk to the parts guys up at Coleman; one of them, Chris I think, knows a good rad. shop that will coat the inside of the tank for you. He's got nasty things to say about the tradtional off-the-shelf stuff.

- .RJ - 05-27-2008

Dropped tank off for lining - all the other little odds and ends are just about done. The bike will be at hyperfizzle Smile

- .RJ - 06-17-2008

Paintwork done, and a bunch of other odds and ends cleaned up Smile I rode it around the block a few times... going to go get tags tomorrow Smile

very nice. i think the UG cover sticks out like a sore thumb... i'd go back to silver, but you're not me...

i'd also paint the front caliper black... but again, you're not me Smile

well done, sir.
