so is that overheating issue a common problem or is it specifically something wrong with your bike? they don't have automatic fans like cars do?

My bike has no problems in traffic on a hot day. It's a common issue, but it's not given.

have you ever sat in bumper to bumper for an extended period of time? the vfr would start getting hot after about 15 minutes of not moving AT ALL.

mine's been in traffic on a 95+ degree day and the rad fan was able to keep it under 230 F (fan kicks-in at 220 F). Bikes getting hot is a common "problem", but not to the point of overheating. It's the same issue with cars, you just don't sit on the engine Tongue

I did my fair share of sitting in traffic on Route 7 when I lived in Leesburg. My temps did run ~220┬░ but my warning light isn't until 248┬░.
