It's a common issue, but it's not given. - Mike - 11-01-2007 Apoc Wrote:Mike Wrote:it's with all bikes. have you ever sat in bumper to bumper for an extended period of time? the vfr would start getting hot after about 15 minutes of not moving AT ALL. - Sijray21 - 11-01-2007 Mike Wrote:have you ever sat in bumper to bumper for an extended period of time? the vfr would start getting hot after about 15 minutes of not moving AT ALL. mine's been in traffic on a 95+ degree day and the rad fan was able to keep it under 230 F (fan kicks-in at 220 F). Bikes getting hot is a common "problem", but not to the point of overheating. It's the same issue with cars, you just don't sit on the engine
- Mike - 11-01-2007 as soon as i see the needle creeping anywhere near the red, i get worried. - Apoc - 11-01-2007 Sijray21 Wrote:Mike Wrote:have you ever sat in bumper to bumper for an extended period of time? the vfr would start getting hot after about 15 minutes of not moving AT ALL. +1 I did my fair share of sitting in traffic on Route 7 when I lived in Leesburg. My temps did run ~220┬░ but my warning light isn't until 248┬░. - Sijray21 - 11-01-2007 Mike Wrote:as soon as i see the needle creeping anywhere near the red, i get worried. i guess the digital read-out is saving me from doing that lesson learned: switch from analog to digital for temp guages people   *ninja edit* -- good luck with the sale Ginger - Ginger - 11-01-2007 Thanks for the bumpage.
