Yay! - Evan - 09-11-2007 john needs much more hate haikus no fun without fire throw in asian joke john likes fast lotus mexicans worse than asians big fox with taco - John - 09-11-2007 I dwive, I dwiving No see you I talk on phone Slant eye FTW! My tummy is hungry Oh your poodle looks tasty Me ruv you rong time - Maengelito - 09-15-2007 Andy Wrote:Asian Driver joke lol, andy wins by far - LorenaBeana - 09-18-2007 So getting back on track: Reasons Lorena shouldn't get the Lotus: -would need to go into debt -pretty unimpressive depreciation (think 15k in 2 years) -2-seater = no back seat -I hate to say this, especially on the MM forum, but, well, I do not aspire to be a racecar driver. This car would not get the track time it deserves. Just pimpin time, and the normal daily driving that I do. (which still lends itself to burning enough rubber to require yearly tires) Reasons I should buy the Lotus: -it's the only time in my life that I can get away with it -it's fun to drive -it'd be an investment in memories, not in financial security - .RJ - 09-18-2007 LorenaBeana Wrote:Reasons I should buy the Lotus: - The big depreciation hit is already taken - Its a go-kart on steroids - You can get one in orange - You're young, enjoy it
- HAULN-SS - 09-19-2007 -you're probably going to go in debt on most any car you buy - .RJ - 09-19-2007 HAULN-SS Wrote:-you're probably going to go in debt on most any car you buy Unless your current car is paid for. - ScottyB - 09-19-2007 get the lotus, Lorena! if you don't do it now, odds are you'll never be able to later either due to job, family, time, or money constraints. eventually you'll find too many reasons to say no to it in later years. have fun now, just be sure you're not in over you head in the purchase price...which i don't think you are, sounds like you know what you're getting in to. and although it's something to keep in the back of your mind, i think i'd worry alot less about repair costs (which are $$$ if you get hit) since you aren't gonna track it. and lets be honest....how cool would it be to someday look back and say, yeah i owned a lotus elise, one of the greatest roadsters of our time 8) - John - 09-19-2007 LorenaBeana Wrote:-pretty unimpressive depreciation (think 15k in 2 years) No, in two years it's more like a 5-10K depreciation (depending on how much you were able to swindle with the dealer when new). And with the extremely high attrition rate, these things are going to be less and less common. I suspect the amortization will hit a plateau after several years and stay at that price for awhile... - LorenaBeana - 09-19-2007 amortization, eh? word. - .RJ - 10-01-2007 http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/ ... 61061.html Hop on it
