maybe....i'm gonna see if Jen is down with giving me a set of RE-01R's as an early birfday present 8)

that's really the only thing i want changed on the car before i compete. i'm losing my patience with the 92's fast.

Best bday present ever. I have only run those tires for one track weekend but am quite amazed at how well they gripped even for their first time out. Also seemed to have minimal wear considering the abuse I gave them practicing with the new brake pads.

eeeexcellent. i have a few pounds advantage on you so if they're dealing well with the abuse i'm sure you're giving them, then hopefully they're going to last a good while with me.

Fuckin' aye. I hate the ones on my car. They are the least durable tire i've ever seen in my life, or nova roads eat dicks? I've got one with a pretty noticeable bulge in the sidewall, already had one blow out the sidewall, and have another with a slow leak right now. Not to mention their treadwear sucks, especially for the amount of traction they don't have.

no, they're just an all-around failure in every way. the only thing i've heard is that they're really good on dirt. go figure.

- HAULN-SS - 09-04-2007

that surprises me. I'd figure the gravel would rip them to shreds

...bastards!

i was leading 2nd place up until Scotty got his last round in and overtook me by .2 seconds! i think it was Scotty, someone else, Mike G, and then me in STS that auto-x. Mike also got me by .0x seconds or something in the last round after i went.

i need to auto-x again, that was fun. there are too many damn people around here though! events fill up within 15 minutes of the on-line registration Sad

what you NEED to do is get your ass back on track in something with 4 wheels!

he is busy smoking hookahs!

asian hippie, who wudda thunk.

- .RJ - 09-10-2007

hookahs? wtf?

- ScottyB - 09-10-2007

BJ, Shea, Evan, Lee -- you guys ever get alot of gear noise from the transmission when coasting?

i've heard it's a "thing" that is particularly evident in imprezas, especially 5 speeds. it's not alarming but it's more than i'm used to -- sounds kind of like a school bus whine  . it's louder after the tranny warms up. i'm putting new fluid in this week..."extra-s" synth from subaru.

we'll see how it goes i guess.

in other news, after 2 weeks i'm averaging 28 mpg combined....not bad at all. i've upped my tire pressures and the weathers cooling (ha, relatively speaking) so the AC won't be maxed out constantly and i'm expecting the milage to keep going up.

oh yeah, fun stuff! 20mm rear sway will be picked up on thursday and i've got an intake duct and intake elbow from a WRX locked down for free from a wrecked local WRX.

- KPWSerpiente - 09-10-2007

Might as well post on behalf of Lee's (my) car. Yeah, there is a little bit of vibration/noise present on coasting. Not always there but enough that I notice it.

ah that's right! good to have you back behind the wheel.

NASIOC has threads on gear whine, Scotty.

10-4, i've read through many of them but i just wanted to get any additional information on people here with experiences like mine. i prefer to get feedback from people here instead of big sites like that if i can help it.

- HAULN-SS - 09-11-2007

What's wrong with gear whine? i always liked hearing it

- Evan - 09-11-2007

*thinking way back*

Yes mine had gear whine while coasting. I never minded it or even thought it out of the ordinary.
Not nearly as annoying as Nasioc whine. Wink
