I feel like I've already accomplished all your goals.
- WRXtranceformed - 06-27-2007 Whose? - Apoc - 06-27-2007 ^ You - WRXtranceformed - 06-27-2007 Congrats .... FWIW, what I would consider a "nice house" and "nice car" is a little higher end than a townhouse and a 6 year old Audi (*poke*)
- Sijray21 - 06-27-2007 It's kinda cool to tally up the weird and cool things you've done in your life. I can check off a few and i'll have to see if i can make a comprehensive list for myself. - Apoc - 06-27-2007 WRXtranceformed Wrote:Congrats .... My point is that your basic goals aren't really specific enough if you care about this sort of thing... which you obviously don't. Some people respond well to having individualized, attainable goals and others don't want to put that much effort into it. I guess what I'm really trying to say is that the purpose of a list like this is to prevent yourself from just merely existing and I don't see "succeed and get a nice so and so" as more than that. - WRXtranceformed - 06-27-2007 I got you. Yeah I'm fully aware of how shallow I am, I don't need a website to remind me and the rest of my friends about it. - Goodspeed - 06-28-2007 Heres a question for all you old ass people on here Are any of you on the fence about marriage b/c you fear it'll sap all the fun out of life? This probably sounds "immature", but I don't think I'll even contemplate married life until my 30 somethings because I want to make money, enjoy a nice life for myself, and cruise singles bars looking for milfs. The last thing I want is a wife that emasculates me and tells me what I can and can't do, how is that living? I guess I'm not sold on the insitution of marriage. Please speak up with your opinions, or put on your jungle hat and we can go cougar hunting together
- HAULN-SS - 06-28-2007 Pith helmets for all!

If your SO cant be supportive of what you enjoy, then maybe its not the right girl? I'm sure the peanut gallery will pull out the terminally single commentary, but the last long term GF I had (3 years) I never had that problem... I imagine that being involved in motorsports brings a lot of type-a personalities in, so this is probably a skewed audience to begin with to ask that question. - WRXtranceformed - 06-28-2007 I think the problem is that a lot of people, out of fear of being lonely, will just settle with someone who they've been with for a long time. This works sometimes, but a lot of times it doesn't... especially if you get married at a young age. You change so much between 20 and 30 that it often causes rifts in marriages. I've traditionally been opposed to marriage, but it's growing on me more and more the older I get. I'm just going to be very cautious about not settling, and instead finding a girl that I get along with very well and who will put up with my shit (and that doesn't cause too much shit of her own). Preferrably one who isn't looking to have children. Ever. I personally think early to mid 30s is a good time to get married, but most people nowadays do it much younger than that. Whatever makes you happy I guess. You can't deny the US divorce statistics though, and I personally think they're due in part to people "settling" or getting married too young. - Ginger - 06-28-2007 .RJ Wrote:Then dont do that? (didn't read anything, but my girlfriend is supportive) - Apoc - 06-28-2007 Goodspeed Wrote:Are any of you on the fence about marriage b/c you fear it'll sap all the fun out of life? The last thing I want is a wife that emasculates me and tells me what I can and can't do, how is that living? RJ pretty much nailed it. If she controls you, that's your problem, not the fault of the institution of marriage. It's possible to make money, enjoy a nice life for yourself (with someone else) and get laid without having to cruise singles bars (do they even really exist any more?). I think the only thing my wife has prohibited me doing is fucking other women... and I'm okay with that. Besides, I probably wouldn't be getting laid without her anyway. Your idea assumes that you actually have game, which most of us don't.
- Ginger - 06-28-2007 Not to mention the single, bar cruising, thing isn't as fulfilling as you make it out to be. There's a lot of enjoyment to be had in having somebody to share every[day]/[thing] with.... I, for one, am happier with my relationship right now than I would be/was single. - Jewels - 06-28-2007 I think RJ and Chris really nailed it. I never thought I'd get married when I was 23, as a matter of fact I didn't think I would ever get married. But I met Rex and that changed. We really compliment each other. I actually like hanging out with the guys at the track. And I think Rex likes that he doesn't have to pick between his friends and his wife. We really truly enjoy each others company, we really bring out the best in each other, so I don't think that marriage sucks the life out of people. Your relationships are what you make them, even friendships can suck the life out of you if you let them. - .RJ - 06-28-2007 asteele2 Wrote:I, for one, am happier with my relationship right now than I would be/was single. So why are you so bitter?

I've cut ties with many friends (and girlfriends) over the years that I felt were bringing me down. |
