meh, don't sweat it too much. you have to be way out of control to mess up that bad at an auto-x. almost all the "situations" i've seen have been people with highly boosted cars or big displacement stuff like vettes.
it's kinda rough on your tires but that's about it. and even then, your tires are so biased towards performance that even if you are hacking at the wheel they'll take the punishment well.
it's a great feeling to beat up on times posted by cars with twice your power 8)

why would someone be worried about ants in their starfish???? starfish clearly live under water and ants would drown if they tried to get into a starfish.

welcome to the club! you'll quickly learn that very few things around here stay serious or on-topic, but we love it. It's the special type of ADD you get when you hit the GFCP (go-fast-crack-pipe). Don't even worry about going out and checking out an autoX. Sign up for it and just drive as hard as you want. There is nobody holding a gun to your head saying you have to push it to its limits and everybody will respect you for actually letting your car do it what it was made for. Plus, it's crazy cheap compared to some other addictions :-). I just autoX for fun, I could give a shit what kind of times I actually post.

heh, I was going to say you'd have to be a complete moron, but I knew the moment I said it, I'd be putting a hex on myself for the next event or something. :lol: You really do have to be driving WAY beyond your abilities, which would even be ok as long as you don't also do it in the wrong place, ie, near a dumpster, fence, curb, wall, light pole, stop gate, or spectator.
By all means, you must try it. I'm quite sure the chances of getting in an accident are higher on the way to the event.
