- CaptainHenreh - 12-30-2006 MSRP was almost always meaningless for those cars. If you can't buy a GTO for under 30, it's because you're mentally deficient. - NTIman - 12-31-2006 I like the GTO. Sure, it may not be a direct relative of the original muscle car, but what it lacks in muscle car looks, it makes up in muscle car heart. Back in the day, I don't think people gave a shit if it looked like a family car as long as it kicked the ass of the car beside it, and especially if it was a good deal of a car. That being said, I think that the Monaro looks like more of a grocery getter than the GTO. Call me crazy. - Mike - 12-31-2006 NTIman Wrote:That being said, I think that the Monaro looks like more of a grocery getter than the GTO. Call me crazy. i agree, but it doesn't look ugly. the whole generic pontiac front end is the worst thing since the pinto. - NTIman - 12-31-2006 I'm sure they could have done better on the styling. I think if they would have simply recessed the grille it would have looked better. Would it be my first choice for a car? No Would I consider it, even though it looks like a cross between a Cavalier and a Grand Prix? Sure. But I would drive it whether if it was the Monaro or the GTO. - Ryan T - 12-31-2006 I said it in the other thread and I still agree with myself; GTO looks like a grand am. Yes they make awesome power, but that only takes you so far in a sports car in my book. Used C5 > GTO. in my book at least. - CaptainHenreh - 12-31-2006 Ryan T Wrote:Used C5 > GTO. in my book at least. I'd imagine that's the case in anyone's book, but there is something to be said for a new car. - NTIman - 12-31-2006 I would definately take a used C5 over a GTO, but Rex does have a point, there is something to be said for picking up a new car. However, the C5 couldn't be a convertable, because I am neither Barbie, or a balding middle aged man. - WRXtranceformed - 12-31-2006 OMG I would love for my next sports car to be a convertible. Driving with the top down = pimp!! - Ryan T - 01-01-2007 I agree with Lee, convertibles are the shit. - Jeff - 01-02-2007 I'll be happy with a 450hp Viper....[Peter Gabriel]I'm counting out time[/Peter Gabriel] |
