i figured it out Lee: you need a GNX.

exclusivity, turbo power, room for 4, automatic, rwd, fast but a comfy big car ride. now to find one for less than the cost of a new modern car....

- HAULN-SS - 12-19-2006

heh, funny you say that. I just found a GN for 5500$ that's in really good shape on the inside, but needs a little touch-up on the original paint on the inside. It's an 87 - the best year for them. Not an X, but still awesome

Well, I told your mom not to wear the gimp suit, but she insists every time!

Yeah, it looks like the ford taurus replacement thing - Rex has some pretty uhm... unique... tastes in automobiles.

If a Fusion was RWD and had a 4.5L V8, I might consider it.

- HAULN-SS - 12-19-2006

Im pretty sure they make them in AWD with a v8 dont they? or is that the 500?

Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ and Mercury Milan will come in AWD in CY07

WTF is CY07? I'd assume that means "calendar year '07", but car manufacturer typically badge it as MY07, meaning that '07 models will have that available. Somebody please correct me if I've been mistaken all this time.

- Dave - 12-20-2006

oh yeah, my vote would be to keep the IS, since you seem to be overall pretty pleased with it and it is a badass car, sell the STi and get a house. Once you get the house settled, decide on what you want to do with cars.

CTS-V would be a very good choice IMO too, despite it not being a slushbox. You'll get over that when you stomp on the loud pedal and row through the gears.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 12-20-2006

Where are you driving Lee? If its anywhere near a major city, get a slushbox. Im from northern virginia, and I am so diehard manual, and I take back my comments from 2 years ago where I said I could deal with it, but I cant. I desire an automatic, something comfortable. Keep the IS, sell the STi, get a house. Forget about cars for a few years till you get the house finance completely in order. Youll also be in a position to get whatever car you feel like it. Maybe a used c6 z06 will be in order at that time.

John made a really good point that's getting the wheels turning in a different direction. Housing costs aside, furnishing and making a new home comfortable is not cheap, especially since you can't really (for the most part) roll it over into the mortgage. There's a big difference between living in a home and living in a house with no furniture

Probably what I'll do when the STi goes is use some of the proceeds to make the IS a little more comfortable. I'm thinking another fun car, or a different car altogether should be put on hold though until the house can be blinged out and comfortable =)

I wasn't saying "No AWD". I was saying "No V8".
