- Mike - 12-08-2006 nonono, i'm talking about as an all-season. for the price i know they're a very good summer-only tire and they also do well in the wet. - BLINGMW - 12-08-2006 ohok right on - .RJ - 12-08-2006 Last year I had Dunlop SP Sport A2 (I think) on the '99 miata... they were cheap ($50/ea, I had to replace one when dumbass matt picked up a nail ) and the car seriously kicked ass in the snow.Dammit, I want another '99 miata. Dammitalltohell. - Andy - 12-08-2006 .RJ Wrote:Last year I had Dunlop SP Sport A2 (I think) on the '99 miata... they were cheap ($50/ea, I had to replace one when dumbass matt picked up a nail The PO of the Mr2 had those. They were god awful in wet or dry. I can't imagine them in the snow. They were on the worn side of things though. With regard to the original topic, Costco is awesome for inexpensive all seasons especially with their coupon. I bought a set of Traction TA's for the MR2 for like 200 mounted/balanced/installed. I paid like 260 for a set of GForceSports mounted/balanced/installed. Their pricing is comparable to Tirerack but they also include installation in the cost and fill it up with Nitrogen. - Mike - 12-08-2006 haha everybody disagrees on everything. costco tried to sell my sister a set of 4 michelin somethingorothers that had awful reviews on tirerack. instead, for $100 less she got yokohamas (with awesome reviews, ones i have on the hatch) from tire rack and mounted by a local shop. - Andy - 12-08-2006 Mike Wrote:haha everybody disagrees on everything. costco tried to sell my sister a set of 4 michelin somethingorothers that had awful reviews on tirerack. instead, for $100 less she got yokohamas (with awesome reviews, ones i have on the hatch) from tire rack and mounted by a local shop. They sell Michelin, Bridgestone, BFG. One of those big ass brands should have a decent tire for your sister (is she hot). The tire monkey tried to upsell your sister. That's no big surprise but if you go in there with a tire make and model in mind, you can leave with a good deal. - Mike - 12-08-2006 she is not hot. - Andy - 12-08-2006 Mike Wrote:she is not hot. I know. RJ showed me a pic once. - .RJ - 12-08-2006 Mike Wrote:she is not hot. I hope he has alot of sick days saved up... because he'll be stuck at home if there is more than an inch of snow on the ground.
- Mike - 12-08-2006 512s? - Evan - 12-08-2006 azenis 215 - BLINGMW - 12-08-2006 Evan Wrote:azenis 215 yeah, I BET those are great snow tires! I wonder if you could even park a car on a hill without it sliding away. of course, didn't you drive in snow with those on your WRX Evan? - Maengelito - 12-08-2006 Apoc Wrote:.RJ Wrote:Mike Wrote:she is not hot. now thats excellent. i think the 712s were a decent street tire, and maybe a decent tire to start doing DE's on. i had a set on my integra back in the day, and they were predictable, decent in the dry and wet, and didnt melt during july events on track. i know gerald also went through several sets of them. i need to find that picture of him eating a set of 712s - Maengelito - 12-08-2006 BLINGMW Wrote:Evan Wrote:azenis 215 they were corded 215's - navin - 12-08-2006 Haha, 215's in the snow is a nightmare. Just ask the 350z owner i hit like 3 years ago going 5mph slowing down for a stop sign. - BLINGMW - 12-08-2006 d'oh! hock:
