I talked to Jeff today, and he's not going to the autoX... so can we get the helmets?

- Ryan T - 10-20-2006

Jeff, I'll be at Sheetz from 3-11 tonight...and Aaron lives about 100 yards away from you, bring the helmets to one of us.

- D_Eclipse9916 - 10-21-2006

My car is barely not ready....I only had the past two days to work on it, one hour this morning and 4 yesterday.

Entire front end was completely taken apart including a/c condensor, radiator, front mount, headlights, intake manifold, charcoal canister, egr, all intercooler piping, gm maf setup, door handles, door interior pieces, cooant lines, throttle body, all vacuum lines, battery, hood, fenders, sideskirt caps, bumper.

So I only had time to do the intake manifold, emissions equipment removal and block off plates ( had to custom make them, stupid ass guy sent completely wrong intake manifold), front mount, radiator, radiator hoses and coolant lines, vacuum lines, throttle body, prepped the front bumper, welded radiator support togther (had a professional weld it) front bumper hangars.

Still have to put on the fenders, sideskirt caps, intercooler piping, paint front bumper, paint door handle, install cf hood, gm maf setup, headlights and battery.

I Will attempt to finish off everything but the front bumper and door handle when I go into work on monday morning. If anyone wants to help they can give me a call or come in to Dryft at 9: am monday.

This blows dick...I don't have the damn helmets and now I have to go freakin home to get them. I never want to see them again!!! ( ) I will run home and get them this evening... I should have them here around 8pm at the latest.

I might be running a few minutes late in the morning, because I have to go meet my mom at her hotel on teh other end of town and then bring her and my sister back to the meeting place. If I'm not there by 8:30 just go ahead and leave without me. I'll catch up. Directions:

From Harrisonburg and all points North, on Interstate 81, take Exit 227, the Verona Exit. At the end of the exit ramp, turn right onto Laurel Hill Road (Route 612). At the second traffic light, turn left onto Lee Highway (US Route 11). At the next traffic light, turn left into the Government Center complex.

Another fun day. Wasn't quite as smooth as I would have liked to be but had a good time nonetheless. The gravel was a bit of a problem.. but other than that course was terrific and extremely fast. Was nice to have some new MM faces out.

- ultimagtrlover - 10-22-2006

Great fun today everyone. I finally got to test the limits of my car and that was great. There's a whole lot to learn though in driving to get fast times. Congrats to everyone for their successful runs. Thank-you Tyler for the ride in the wonderful M3, thank-you Shea for the air-pump usage, and thank-you everyone else for the good times. Just please next time remind me to NOT wax the car 3-days before the event.

Why not? Did you get lots of dust on it or hit cones and get blemishes?

- Ryan T - 10-22-2006

Had an absolute blast. The vette is certaintly a lot more car to toss around than my supra is, can't be quite as liberal with the throttle. Was a great time regardless.

B/C the tape used to attach numbers to the body panel for vehicle identification does NOT STICK to my polished, glazed, sealed, and waxed paint panels!

Woot! That corner was a doozie for me. Two DNFs both because I got caught up in the gravel and lost control. The spin was fun though, thanks for the pic.

that morgan 4/4 is pretty cool! don't see those too often

Adam, didn't mean to leave you out of the pictures... for some reason I couldn't get every picture to load and couldn't find a picture of your car.

I'm waiting for my spinout video to show up on the forums anytime now.

Thanks, but I can't take credit for the course. Lynn Combs was the course designer. I contributed a couple of minor tweaks. I will say that the design was in response to feedback that the previous courses had been a bit "confining".

There was a trick to staying out of that gravel in that right turn at the top of the loop. Your instincts tell you to take a wider enrty into that turn the first time to let you carry more speed in. The problem was that the turn from the entry going into the loop the second time threw gravel right on that line! If you gave up a little bit and ran a tighter line on the entry the first time in, you were on cleaner pavement and you could get on the gas sooner coming out of that turn and carry more speed down tha long back straight.

It is always great to have MM at our events.

Here's a link to the video of Shea spinning out. The quality isn't amazing since I took the movie with my digital camera but it gets the job done. I'll post up some pictures as soon as I get some time.

The look on her face is a direct result of hitting the go-fast-crack-pipe.
