y'all seem to forget that Chris' place is right off the greenway, so yeah from his house to Herndon shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Hell from the toll road it takes me around 10 minutes to get to Allsports and that's with using 28 & Nokes.

Mike Wrote:6 miles at 12 miles per hour (yes, that is the average rate of speed once you pass mclean on the toll road, i've calculated it based on 5 commutes in a summer week) is 30 minutes.

It's backed up from the 267/66 merge to Glebe Rd... that's what, 2-3 miles? I have a feeling that the surface streets are what takes you so long to get home.

Apoc Wrote:Yeah except you can do 65mph between here and I66 in the afternoon

And then you hit 15 mph traffic jam.

Yeah.. for a few miles until Glebe and it clears until downtown. Broken record, etc. etc....

I think this is where we agree to disagree 'cause we've obviously had very different experiences.

- Mike - 09-01-2006

your experience was a fluke... my coworkers are all laughing at you... "it takes me an hour and a half to get from here to arlington at 530"

- Apoc - 09-01-2006

Experiences... as in a few dozen.

5:30 != 4:55

I'm usually on 66 by then.

- Mike - 09-01-2006

455 has slightly less traffic, but to dc in 30 minutes is impossible, sorry.

- Apoc - 09-01-2006

Tongue

lah lah lah lah... i can't hear anything you're saying!

- .RJ - 09-01-2006

You need to videotape it.

- Ginger - 09-01-2006

I think it's clear that Chris subscribes to the Paul Baz School of Time Measurement.

- Ginger - 09-01-2006

Also, since we're just bitching about traffic now:

Braddock road at 123, during class start/end times is a disaster.

I live 6 miles from school and it took me over 40 minutes to get from my house to class. I was on the bike and riding the dotted white lines "in" whichever lane was faster the entire way, too.

- Apoc - 09-01-2006

Paz doens't measure time at all...

FWIW, it took me over an hour to get home from Mike's a few weeks back. blah

- Dragon - 09-01-2006

Time is relative, there is no spoon.

- Apoc - 09-01-2006

Don't you live like two miles from RTC?

- Sijray21 - 09-01-2006

here's a relevant article:

I'm from Sterling (cascades) and damn I had no idea about the wealth. I can only imagine how this place will look in 10-20 years.

Lots of traffic
