that's a nice one for sure. the 2.8's are OK, not very stout down low. you'd really have to drive it to get the proper feeling for it. also, the B5's have poor rear seat room...that may be a factor for you if you're carting other professionals around. it would get you around year-round in fine comfort though, i can say that.
i still think you should stick with your gut man, keep your eye on those IS's.

Buy a 2005 legacy. Ive seen some of those for around 18 or so with factory warranty left on them. Pretty much has all the comforts + the rear seat is pretty big. I'm 5'11 and can sit comfortably. Might be a few grand outta your range, but just a thought. Ample power for a DD too, it seems.

White really isnt hard to clean either, like most people think. You can actually tell where you need to be cleaning, and water spots are pretty much non existant.
