dude....it's a month away...
I've never been to one of these chili cookoffs, maybe it's a fly by the seat of your pants event. In my experience though, any event like this has substantial pre-planning, so knowing approximately how many people a month or so out is a good thing.

You haven't been to any of the parties I've thrown obviousy. Everything is planned out a month in advance, I know about three weeks ahead of time approx how many people are gonna show, food and beverages are purchased with two weeks to go. That way I'm not running around like a chicken with it's head cut off the week of the event or even the night before. It's just like getting prepped for a track day.

What you described is just like any other night of the week hanging out with some friends, I guess that's what the chili cookoff is, not a throw down party. My bad.

eat enough boost rot chili and you will get both!

ha! i don't want to hear any horror stories of people melting away from the inside out.
hahah nah. Any chump can make chili that burns your guts out. The skilled Chili Chef can make it very spicy while still have great flavor. My chili usually borders the line of edible, while still having kickass flava' with good depth.

It is indeed good. I had about two bowls of it. I tried the others as well, but the taste and spiciness hit the nail on the head.

Ah, a true man after my own chili heart.

Chili isnt' about being hot, people. It's about being hot, but being so damn good you don't really care.

Although when people travel in a northern direction( i.e. going up to NYC) they usually say they are coming up, but because the Shenandoah River flows south to north and drains into the Potomac River, this is actually correct vernacular.

Good thing nobody questioned him on it, then!

- Kaan - 08-28-2006

umm i thought the only river that went south to north was the Nile river? either that or my history teacher was a moron! Wink
