like I said, I call first dibs on the motor if you guys decide to part out. Or whatever.

I don't have the time, energy, or extra funds to go get it.

Or a trailer, for that matter.

fuck.

Quote:Hi Andrew,

Someone came tonight with $400 and picked up the car. I'm sorry that I couldn't hold it for you, but I am working on a first come, first served basis. I will, of course, keep you informed if I sell my current BMW.

Thanks,

Julia

donkey, you gotta pull the trigger on this stuff.
when i bought the $300 miata, i called the guy immediately and was at his door within 2 hours to buy the car.
im surprised the car took as long to sell as it did.

yeah yeah yeah... i actually didnt know about it until my friend andrew told me about it. i kinda left it up to him since i dont have a truck/trailer to tow that pile. oh well, i probably didnt need another project anyway

Well hopefully I'm not going to piss anyone off here, but I called the girl last night and asked her what the deal was with the car. She and I talked for a while, and she said that someone was supose to pick it up but the plans fell through. She felt that it was probably not going to happen and told me that if I wanted to pick it up last night that I could. So, I fired up the F-150, hitched the trailer, and...

bought it. No title and all. Bent hood, spare tire, dead-as-a-doornail, the whole 9 yards.

For some strange reason. Still not sure why yet. Part of me bought it as an investment, part of me bought it because it was a BMW and I'd like to drive something other than my gas guzzling heavyweight automatic F-150 for a little while. Part of me bought it because Alison needs a more practicle/safe vehicle than her Miata. And part of me bought it just because it was a $400 E36. Gagh.

Maeng if you were serious about this car then hit me up and we'll work something out that's fair.

Pete

HAHA, Go Pete!!!

- Feersty - 08-08-2006

Would you be able to eventually get a title? Was it considered totaled?

- ScottyB - 08-08-2006

rock on Pete, rock on

- PDenbigh - 08-08-2006

NA, she just lost the title so we're getting a new one. I'm really looking forward to tearing into the car this evening to see what I'm up against.

Ha ha, right. I had enough trouble buying something other than a Ford. No way would I be caught dead putting a Chevy heart in it ;-).

p.s. you are evil.

ha, no thats alright. good work though. i had a sneaking suspicion it was someone from MM. i really dont need more cars (or bikes... stupid RJ). i would like to know why it doesnt run though and see if it was actually something serious, or if it was just something a dumb charlottesville hippie wouldnt know how to fix

- Evan - 08-08-2006

good job Pete!
I considered picking it up, but with all the interest in this thread I figured it would have been gone already.
good luck with the project
