- Apoc - 07-10-2006 If lap times were all that mattered I'd be fucked. I qualified 16th on Sunday and ended up finishing 3rd after 2 DQs. Granted there was traffic in qulaifying but there's just something about the motivation of racing that makes me brake later, lift less, get back on the gas faster and take risks I never thought reasonable. DE is a bit like masturbation. Yeah it's fun and you may be able to do it quickly but in the end you're really only playing with yourself. - Maengelito - 07-10-2006 .RJ Wrote:My integra still has tags & inspection...... put a cover on it if you're worried about it. i'm not worried about vandalism and such but my apartment property manager seems to like to threaten people with towing their cars if its being worked on a lot or doesn't run or hasnt moved in a long time and isnt registered with them. but i assume that a car cover would probably attract more potential vandals seeing as how most people in my complex are retarded uva college kids or community college dropouts - .RJ - 07-10-2006 Maengelito Wrote:seeing as how most people in my complex are retarded uva college kids or community college dropouts Well there's an easy solution to that problem - Maengelito - 07-10-2006 .RJ Wrote:Maengelito Wrote:seeing as how most people in my complex are retarded uva college kids or community college dropouts yeah, but its more expensive, i'm sure. i mean, if i had the money to build and maintain a racecar, then i'd most likely rent a storage area to keep it as that cost probably isnt too high relative to the car. but the bottom line is that i just wouldnt be able to afford racing 5-10 times a year and still enjoy the things i do every day or weekend - Evan - 07-10-2006 Im going to venture a guess that there are houses in C'ville for rent...maybe even 1 or two with a garage.... - white_2kgt - 07-10-2006 Evan Wrote:Im going to venture a guess that there are houses in C'ville for rent...maybe even 1 or two with a garage.... or buy and (gasp) stop throwing your money down the shitter in rent. - .RJ - 07-10-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:or buy and (gasp) stop throwing your money down the shitter in bartabs. Fixed that for Maeng
- navin - 07-10-2006 hooray for bartabs.. after a DE weekend my passion for doing more events, preping the car better is at an all-time high. But as time passes after the event, im just pissing money away at the bar, and other stupid shit. so i guess i understand where Maeng is coming from, eventhough I'm not nearly as far long as he is, and others. - navin - 07-10-2006 hooray for bartabs.. after a DE weekend my passion for doing more events, preping the car better is at an all-time high. Solution, do more events
- navin - 07-10-2006 That would be the easy solution, i tend to do things the hard way..

Speaking of doing things the hard way...how did you end up getting your keys out of your locked car? - navin - 07-10-2006 AAA, $21. Wrecker service came to the paddock and got it out in 5 minutes.. - Feersty - 07-10-2006 navin Wrote:AAA, $21. Wrecker service came to the paddock and got it out in 5 minutes.. Awesome, yeah glad they got them out, I had to go back to the hotel and pass out. - Maengelito - 07-10-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:Evan Wrote:Im going to venture a guess that there are houses in C'ville for rent...maybe even 1 or two with a garage.... well, considering that c'ville has experienced one of the highest housing booms in what has been considered a housing boom in america, i cant afford a house right now. no houses in charlottesville proper have garages unless they are mansions. not many new houses are being built around here because the damn cville hippies protest any sort of development going on around here. most of the development here has been cookie cutter townhouses in shitty neighborhoods, some of which have garages. i dont feel like paying +$300k for 1200 sq ft of townhouse attached to two other townhouses and i also dont feel like moving 30 min away to be able to afford a decent sized house, so for now, i'll stick to my $350/month rent - Evan - 07-10-2006 blah blah blah if NoVA has plenty of houses for rent with garages, C'ville sure as shit does. If you want it bad enough you will make it happen. If not and you are happy where you are, thats fine too, just dont blame your situation or pretend its out of your control. - Maengelito - 07-10-2006 Evan Wrote:blah blah blah i gaurantee you that you wont find a house in cville with a garage for rent for under $1k a month. at that point, i'm going to buy instead of rent. (ir)regardless, i know its in my power to buy, but i feel the need to take care of a large chunk of college credit card debt and still live the life of a young guy while i still can - Evan - 07-11-2006 why would you rent a house by yourself? MM House #2 rent is ~$550 / person - Maengelito - 07-11-2006 Evan Wrote:why would you rent a house by yourself? efficiency apartments in cville start at like $600. a buddy of mine owns a house about a mile away from my apartment, no garage, gravel sloped driveway, 3 BR, 1 BA, no AC and is renting it out for $1400 /month. houses with garages just arent common around here. you'd have to drive a bit out into the country to find garages and large sheds. my apartment may be small, but for $350 including util except elec, i wouldnt wanna move into a different more expensive place that still doesnt have a garage. |
