As far as the best toolbox to use while out and about working on a car (i.e. at the track, side on the interstate, whereever you may find yourself) I love Dave's backpack toolbox. Easy to carry around on your back and tools are pretty easily accessible.

Going to be MUCH easier rolling this on and off the trailer than the big wrench chest I have.

I have 3 Craftsmen Torque wrenches that I use at work and at home,and they work great. Dad as had one as long as I can remember and still works. The proper way to store them is at the lowest reading on the wrench.
I am proud to say that at work I have a Snap on box that cost me out the ass, and I have like 2 actual snap on tools,and 1 mac tool in it. everything else is craftsmen. Are Snap-On Matco and Mac better? Yes,most of the time,but at this point,cost way too much.
As for Pneumatic tools, It is hard to beat Ingersoll-Rand. Most of the stuff sold by every other name brand is built by them.
As for toolboxes, Craftsmen are great, but a lot of other brands are too. Look around a little bit. Older craftsmen boxes seem to have a better build quality than new ones

I love my backpack toolbox, thanks for mentioning that Thayer. I wish I knew where I got it though, Dad gave it to me as a Christmas present like 2 years ago, and it sat in a closet unused until last year when I figured I might as well use it. I love being able to throw that on my back and grab my craftsman set and be able to roll on the scene ready to tackle almost anything.

I'm sure you guys have seen those "cold heat" soldering guns that "get hot enough to melt solder then cool to the touch in just seconds"...they are absolute crap. They're fine if your just making little knick knacks and jewelry and such, but if your trying to use it to solder wires or make any kind of electrical connection your wasting your time with it.

got the cold heat as a gift. tried to use it once. wont try again.
however the wire stripper that came along with it kicks major ass
